Rumor is that he considered a red shirt!
A simple "I was wrong, thanks for the info" will suffice next time.
The lowest I saw him on any of the mocks was 37.
I have way too much free time! Lol..
You linked beat writers who never even worked in the NFL. I thought you at least had a Mike Mayock, Gil brandt or some former scout's mock.
I am shocked that you would dismiss the data, which does not support your beliefs. Shocked!
I mean, after all Mike Mayock doesn't get things wrong like these other idiots (Mayock had Floyd at #3 on his mock draft).
He had him ranked #1 as far back as I can remember. He's much better then anyone you posted. Who is Chris Burke? I mean, post someone that at least has a decent rep.
It was my fault anyways. These early mocks are terrible and always wildly inaccurate. I shouldn't have even commented on them.
Literally every mock draft I saw but one had him in the first. Just admit you had no idea where he was projected at this point and move on.
WHoa whoa. I know he was considered a late first early 2nd. You said he was largely considered a top 15 pick. Then post ONE link from a guy i've never even heard of. I hope you're not an attorney. You'd be getting innocent guys sent to the chair.
Beat me to it. I was going to say only if it went well with the pants he had on.
I said 15-20 range, and I found and presented more than one link.
I think the point he was making is valid. I've followed Walter Football for ages and I obviously look out for Gator players. This time last year Matt Elam was getting little love from them (I gave them a fair bit of stick directly on Twitter about it) and Easley himself was not getting mad love from them until the start of this year when he started the year so dominantly. Purifoy was the one Gator they loved from way back but he's fallen back down into the 2nd round compared to where he was a few months ago (mid-1st at one point).
I wish I could find historical mocks to prove the point from WF, but from memory alone, DE was definitely more of a recent surge on their website rather than a long term admiration sort of thing. If he'd have played the rest of the season the way he started it, I'd speculate that a final top 15 ranking looked a good bet (as well as a good shot at an All-American honour). His value was trending upwards at the time of the injury which will help him at the draft.
Providing DE's rehab all goes to plan (he's already got a month's head start on Lattimore) then if he's fit and well, he definitely needs to go pro. His stock won't slip that greatly, but I don't think anyone now sees him as a 1st-2nd rounder now unless his recovery is exceptional.
Presumably he would have quite a while to decide on a medical redshirt anyway so he could suss out how he's progressing towards the draft first but I think it's a (selfish) long shot for us to see him on the field in Orange and Blue again sadly...
I doubt it. By the sounds of it, he's ready and wanting to go. Specifically talking about that article about "The South".
