It oddly reminds me of the court room in Bush vs Gore recount

An expert called by the lead DNC atty is testifying re statustics. When asked by the DNC atty to affirm his findings per a report ( to benefit Gore) he picked it up went to the last pages where his conclusions were then stated " this is not correct. My conclusions were changed ". Then it became a supposedly clerical error a photo copy mistake.

Some attorneys withhold evidence. Some alter it. Some even make it up. Some lie to judges.

Corey has her own stand your ground case to prosecute:

Two days after Jordan Davis’s parents buried the body of their 17-year-old son in the Georgia ground, a campaign to repeal "Stand Your Ground" laws in Florida and elsewhere appears to be gaining steam.

Davis was shot to death in Jacksonville, Fla., on Nov. 23 after Michael Dunn, 45, said he felt threatened by the two black teenagers and one young black man sitting with Davis in an SUV. Dunn told police he argued with the group over the volume of their music, saw a shotgun emerge from one of the SUV’s windows then, fired his handgun eight or nine times before fleeing. Three of Dunn’s bullets struck and killed Davis, a lawyer for the boy’s family said Tuesday. Police said those in the SUV were unarmed.

Police charged Dunn, a software engineer, with murder and attempted murder one day after the shooting. He remains in jail. Dunn's lawyer has indicated he will build a defense around Florida’s Stand Your Ground law, which gives shooters the right to use deadly force when they feel threatened and does not require them to retreat. Florida’s law sparked a state inquiry, a federal Civil Rights Commission investigation, public protests and intense political wrangling in other states after the February killing of unarmed Trayvon Martin, also 17 and black, by a neighborhood watchman.

Watch another media circus descend on that.....

Corey is corrupt and upset that she missed a chance to springboard her career with a guilty verdict. Someone has to pay the price as it could not have been her fault that she chose to prosecute a case that would be very difflecult to prove. I find it funny that the black community is now looking at her as a reason for an innocent verdict.

Sometimes the truth can be disgusting. If she is not corrupt then she is incompetent. You choose.

She absolutely needs to go either way. Rick needs to go, too. Seems like a simple one-two.

Corey's speech last night was one of the weirder things I've ever seen. Most of it was straight out of a typical pol's election night victory speech. Maybe she'd prepared a speech on the assumption that the verdict would be guilty, and decided to stick with the script even though GZ was acquitted.

Angela Corey just got taken to the woodshed by renowned Alan Dershowitz again on Huckabee's show. He said she is the worst he's seen as a prosecutor in 50 years at what she did.

He unloaded on her like he's done before about her incompetence and pretty much said she should be disbarred.

This was not a standing 8 count he used with words to talk about her ...it was a beat down of epic proportions.

What was wrong with Nelson? If I was in her place I would have cited West for contempt of court at least couple of times. I wonder if she was getting baited for a possible appeal if the verdict was not favorable.

She didn't need to be baited. She made a couple of bad calls completely and utterly on her own.

    She is a horrible judge.

Angela Corey is a fellow Gator and a very nice and intelligent woman. Apparently Repu lican conservative and a supporter of the Gov. She was handed a crappy case with directives/pressure to try it. Hope you folks will temper your insults about a fellow Gator.

    She may be all that.

If she had some backbone from the get-go, she might not need the flak shields now.

I don't know her, and she may have the proper "christian" credentials, but that does not make her immune from making stupid decisions, or from elevating political pressure over provable, legal facts.

It doesn't matter where she graduated, if she doesn't have character. Not saying one way or the other that she does or doesn't, but this was a major blunder on her part, IMO.

And her post-trial presser was surrealistic, disjointed, and frankly, weird.

Gov. Scott appointed her to investigate, in order to rule out any wrong doing by the Sanford PD and SAO, who both declined to prosecute. It wasn't a mandate to prosecute--but essentially a mandate to review.

The SPD and SAO were being questioned about racial bias and the like. It was appropriate (not necessary, but appropriate) to appoint a presumably unbiased agent of the State, to review and investigate first hand--in the event that the decision not to prosecute was a product of 'good ol' boy' politics, rather than a proper exercise of prosecutorial discretion by the Seminole County SAO (or of proper investigation by the SPD before them).

What ultimately happened was just the opposite--the 'Yocals' excercised proper restraint and proper prosecutorial discretion, and the 'Big Dicks' from Tallahassee came in, and employed emotionally driven politics, in lieu of sound legal discretion.

I'm not saying Gov. Scott's hands are completely clean--but you can't confuse the appointment of a special prosecutor, with a mandate to prosecute. The speical porsecuotor's job is first to investigate--then to prosecute, if, according to the facts uncovered by her investigation, and then according to his/her prosecutorial discretion, (s)he determines that it is appropriate--under the LAW (Not according to the current political climate) to do so.

What does nice, intelligent and the fact that Angela Corey is a Gator fan have anything to do with an abysmal case she put together?

It might help you to read this article from the Florida Times-Union about her. It's not just posters on Gator Country making disparaging comments. Here are some further facts that perhaps you don't know about what your fellow Gator represents.
