State Attorney Angela Corey fires information techonology director who raised concerns in Trayvon Martin case

State Attorney Angela Corey fired her office’s information technology director Friday after he testified last month about being concerned prosecutors did not turn over information to George Zimmerman’s defense team in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin.

On the same day attorneys finished their closing arguments in that nationally watched trial, a state attorney investigator went to Ben Kruidbos’ home about 7:30 a.m. to hand-deliver a letter stating Kruidbos “can never again be trusted to step foot in this office.”

Corey and others learned Kruidbos had hired White as his attorney when White, subpoenaed by the defense, identified Kruidbos by name at a May 28 hearing. Corey put Kruidbos on paid leave that same day.

Yep, I just posted this in the trial thread.

This whole scandal is far from being over even after the jury reaches a verdict.

The Judge in the Zimmerman trial should be held responsible for deferring a ruling until after the trial concerning info discovered on TM cell phone.

In other words, she knew about it but was protecting the state.

If you think the whole thing was a witch hunt then it would be worth keeping in mind who appointed her as special prosecutor. She didn't get there by herself.

Has to do with who appointed her. Thought that was fairly clear.

    No it wasn't...

It has absolutely no bearing on what she does in her job... NONE...

Boy... That "but BUSH" group-think seems to be becoming an epidemic...

    Hence the quotation marks...

Would "but SCOTT" have made any sense to you?

Who appointed her has absolutely no bearing on how poorly she has held herself in this trial. None whatsoever. To even attempt to somehow justify her actions by saying that she was fair because she had been appointed by Scott is just dumb...

Corey was elected by the people when she ran against Harry Shorstein in 2008 in a very heated battle.

Governor Rick Scott appointed her as Prosecutor to oversee the Zimmerman/Martin trial because of the proximity to Sanford plus his ties to Jacksonville. It was due to letters from Washington from the Martin lawyers and to stop the rioting and tension. The Governor didn't know she was going to do what she did though so I can't place blame on him. This is all about Angela Corey and a botched case.

Of course it does. If someone hires you to fly a plane they have a responsibility to know your qualifications. If Rick Scott was driven to have GZ indicted, which a case can be made for, then he is responsible for choosing her.

    Really not hard to understand.

So there was no one other than her close to Sanford he could have chosen?
