It WAS great back then....you never heard the first liberal tell us what they knew was best for us.

And back then, if they had--we ALL would have told them to F-off too.:laugh:

And if you were afflicted by a disease no fancy medical procedures were going to get in the way of dying a real mans death!

When did the first liberal speak up and get told to F-off? Was it the civil rights movement? I wasn't alive that far back.

One universal truth: the past will always be romanticized.

"And if you were afflicted by a disease no fancy medical procedures were going to get in the way of dying a real mans death!"

but you know, back then I only had ONE vaccination--the Polio deal where it left a quasi-scar on either you left upper arm or in some cases on the back of the shoulder. ONE vaccination....nothing like the vast array of vaccines given to today's kids. Don't get me wrong, I believe the vaccines can do wonders at preventing or eliminating many diseases---but I know I got small pox, chicken pox, mumps, etc just like every one of my friends did. And amazingly--we all survived with no problems. I tend to think our immune systems were strengthened a bit from catching those childhood illnesses which seemed to hit everyone back then. I actually can't recall anyone while growing up, who didn't catch most of those things...and yet, we all survived just fine.

The medical part aside--that video spells it out rather accurately for those of us who did grow up back then. No doubt it seems rather ludicrous to the younger crowd in here who can't relate, but things were actually pretty good back then. Much, much simpler and much less intrusive.

Indeed, eventually everyone who makes it past 45 will pine for the "good ole days."

Meanwhile their parents are looking down from heaven with scorn.

You know....on that, I may be wrong. Chicken pox and mumps--without a doubt. Maybe I am thinking of Scarlet Fever---I know for a fact I had that. The small pox....eh, probably not.

Thanks for picking up on that one.

Trial lawyers had nothing to do with that or any medical breakthroughs. So please feel free to enlighten us next time you chime-in.

No but the Civil Rights Act was passed because of conservatives not liberals!
