With Roper rumored to be moving toward a base package that includes 3 WRs and a TE...it has me wondering what Joyer's role this coming season will be? He's easily one of the most physical guys we have on offense and our best blocker, by far. He's been responsible for a lot of big plays these last few years by springing the blocks that have opened up big holes for our RBs. Though I'm pleased that Roper will hopefully be bringing a more downfield and attacking approach to our offense, I hope his reputation as a guy who molds his offense to the players is a deserved one--because Joyer is a player and I hope his role doesn't diminish. Meyer made a mistake when he didn't fully utilize Latsko as much as he should have--a decision he later owned up to as a mistake, given his talents. I kinda see a similar thing happening here if our coach values his system over the guys who are here now.
