Almost every smart coached team in college football is moving towards a hurry-up offense. I hope our coaches are smart.

Asking a defenses to complete shutdown another teams offense for 60 mins is just dang near impossible. Even the weakest of teams will get a little

I agree we looked bad the first two times on defense but my god you're offense has to pull something out of there a** eventually

Nice generalization; but if it makes you feel better keep thinking that. Some of best coaches in the best conference beg to differ.

Wasn't joking but forgot D intercepted and gave offense a really short field. Nonetheless, offense didn't do a lot and while the D wasn't perfect they were beyond good enough.

I'm tired of people calling the offense conservative. If the offense was truly conservative, UF would have won the game last weekend.

The reason we lost was because we took chances and they bit us in the face.

If we ran on third and long and kicked the FG instead of letting Jeff throw his first INT, if we had kicked the FG instead of going for fourth down, UF very well may have won the damn game.

The problem was we opened up the offense and it bit us.

BS! 80 yards after the first quarter is not good enough? Give WM (and all of the coaches) credit for the adjustment. scum had a game plan that worked early and we adjusted quite quickly.

The reason this wasn't discussed earlier is because it doesn't deserve discussion.

The D basically gave up 14 points and we should never lose a game giving up 14 points. We aren't going to shut everyone out and the D was close to perfect the last 3 quarters.

I think that is the point of the OP. As phenomenal as the defense played that game, they have to play even better because of how lame the offense is.

It's unfair to expect that of the defense and thus, the offense MUST improve. And this isn't anything new, the offense has struggled throughout Muschamp's tenure. This must change and sooner, not later...or the pressure wlll remain on the defense and that's no way to win NC's.

I pretty much guarantee that the offense won't turn it over 5 times a game. Step off the ledge guys.

Because fast offenses often start out hot. The good defenses weather the storm and settle in. We did that.

I simply dont see anything wrong with our D last Saturday.

Knew without a doubt that Miami would throw the playbook at us early but count me as surprised we gave up the two scores that we did.

That said, five turnovers are what killed us last Saturday.

I wasnt prepared for our ineptitude though I knew we would find some way to lose. It is a Gator tradition we know too well.

I wasn't prepared to read a post that states that losing is a "Gator tradition".

It was interesting how WM essentially put the loss on the defense in his post-gaame presser despite how few sustained drives with points the offense mustered. The offense just doesn't have enough 5-star recruits to hold their own against many SEC defenses (though they have adequate talent to compete against Miami). So the defense doesn't just need to be great--it needs to be perfect.

Let's hope this loss helps focus the minds of our coaching staff and it leads to us having a chance to play in Atlanta when we play UGA in Jacksonville.
