Berry's quote after the game about the tackle was, "I don't know what I was thinking."

Yep. Guy was actually pretty gracious. There had been so much talk about Berry v Tebow in the week before the game that when it finally happened there was just this palpable anticipation in the stadium. They crashed into each other and it was a total stalemate. They hit and went nowhere until a Vol pushed Tim forward in a tackle.

Anyway, it ended up being all that fans from either side could have hoped for.

hey guys, I can't remember how many Championships Aaron Murray won (either SEC or National), also what was his combined record as a starter?

You wanna talk about an accumulator, it's Murray. The Craig Biggio of NCAA football...

My quick math says 35-18 as a starter, wow, overwhelming

Doesn't mean he was a bust. Football is a team sport. Tyrod Taylor didn't win much at Va Tech and he's on the list. Niether did Matt Barkley. And I don't think Ryan Mallet won anything at Arkansas. Murray is 5'10 and put up some unreal numbers vs. the best defenses in college football. He also beat us 3 times.

Definitely not a bust but when the leghumpers act like he is 1 of the greatest SEC QBs ever, well it makes me laugh. Look at the UF teams he beat, and the 2012 UF team that he beat, he played horrible in that game.

Definitely not a bust, just a little perspective for the leghumpers

Statistically he is, not saying that's the be-all end-all, but it makes them not insane.

No, he's about two inches short and about fifteen pounds shy of receiving something as important as that coveted fifth star. You've got to understand something about guys like Farrell, JC Shurburtt and Tom Luginbill: when it comes to evaluating high school quarterbacks, they prefer men who are bigger. Size definitely matters to all three. They've been far more reluctant to give quarterbacks that (very, all-important) fifth star over the years, but if you look at the select few who have received one, it's clear that Luginbill prefers men who are bigger. Shurburtt likes men who are bigger. And Farrell DEFINITELY likes it big at the position.

    exactly, he's an accumulator

    see Craig Biggo

good, not great. Played forever (see Murray starting for all 4 years minus the last 2 games of this season).

Not to mention, comparing stats from players of different eras is pretty retarded nowadays, since this version of football isn't even that similar to Danny's and Peyton's version 15 years ago...

Dont know what Russell Wilson s rating was out of high scool, but all 5 feet 11 inches of him is a super bowl champ.

Some recruiting services listed Chris as a 5-star, while Rivals listed him as a four. But it goes back a decade to 2004, otherwise, Chris would have been listed as the MNC-winning QB in 2006...

I hate this more than anything. That's what everyone was saying about Emmitt - Barry Sanders would have had 30K yards if he ran behind Dallas' line. Not true. Emmitt made great linemen out of good linemen. He had great vision and saw the spot to slip through. Barry would have gained less yards because Dallas' line would have gotten in his way.

Didn't want to start a thread on something so meaningless. Out to eat tonight at dockside, and saw Driskel at the bar, sitting with two friends. He had a beer and left. I didn't realize he was 21. Time flies!

He is gonna be in the HALL because he stuck around forever, lol. He played forever, thus was able to accumulate the stats needed to get to the Hall (3000 hits). If Biggio ends up on 2900 hits, he never makes the Hall. Murray will probably make the Hall too (College football) for accumulation of stats, but he was not this once in a lifetime Elite QB that the leghumpers try to claim. He was a good college qb, much like Biggio was a good baseball player. They were both fortunate to land in the right situations where they were able to play long enough to accumulate "great/big" stats
