Kentucky is playing in the Bahamas. Does basketball have different rules than football regarding number of practices? This has to be a huge advantage to be playing in the off season as a team. Is UF doing anything like this?

Teams can do this every four years. 6 games or so and around 10 practices I think.

I don't recall the exact rule, but this sounds about right. I know we did it in 2006-07. We must have done it at some point in time since then, though I can't seem to recall when or where.

I attended the 2 games we played in Canada in 2006-2007 and dutifully reported back that Dan Werner would be the next Adam Morrison. I believe that a subsequent trip was postponed because of a hurricane.

That cancels out Shane Larkin, and then some. You are at negative zero now ;)

But, I give tampa a lot of credit. You would never have gotten an admission like that from tupac...perhaps because tupac has never, ever been wrong. (?)

These are for "overseas" trips. They used to be to more exotic locations - the 2000 team famously bonded during a trip to France. Lately, we have gone to Canada and the Bahamas. You are allowed one every four years. Not sure when we are next due, but they are considered to provide a real advantage in building team chemistry.

Yes REM, and it is a terrific advantage for teams to do this before a season. Really gives them a leg up on their opponents, and especially when they tend to be so Frosh dominated as KY has become.

UF does it regularly, of course.

Ky is two-platooning. Cauley Stein and Lyles are sitting out for injury. Against the French team, Ky is playing a good bit of zone defense and Cal is not coaching. He is sitting high up and making notes on the game. Bilas is sold on Ky for next year and believes that they are much advanced as a team. Ullis is the real deal as a PG; seeing the court and making plays. Hit the 3 in this game as well.

Damn they are long. Johnson looks more fit but is still clumsy.

UK has 9 current McDonald's All Americans on their roster. That is crazy!!!

Plenty of teams never had 9 total.

Its crazy I agree. But what's often not pointed out is that Duke can say the same thing.

College hoops was more interesting when the talent was spread out amongst several teams. But that was prior to Calapari's formation of the NBA minor league system consisting of one team.

He's had great talent and teams, but still only won 1 National Championship and sort of got lucky to get to the Final Four last year (not knocking it, just saying they weren't dominant) Just saying that I don't know how much I agree with your statement.

I'm at the Atlantis where UK is staying. Tons of UK fans, lots of hospitality events, etc., for their fans. Great atmosphere, their kids are having a ball. Plenty of beautiful woman, great drinks, good music. Lot's of old UK players are here too. I haven't been to any of the games as they are not at the Atlantis but in town. UNC players got here a couple of days ago as well.

I can't wait to come back in November to see our boys in action.

Uk is not looking good in the Bahamas. They are winning but look mediocre at this time. The teams they are playing are terrible and might be the equivalent of a crappy sec team. The teams they have played repeatedly look like sloppy crappy teams. Throwing the ball away missing layups, dunks, wide open 3s....just terrible and half the time look like they are playing half speed.
