What can the Gators do to fix this awful offensive line? I've never seen a Gator O-line just completely break down like they did today? We had one decent drive where we mixed things up and Kelvin ran like his father.....then we went back in the tank. The coaches made a lot of mistakes but the O-line clearly could not compete with Mizzou's defense. Poor Murphy never had a chance today....just like the LSU game. Thoughts?

    Recruiting.

I know that's not what people want to hear, but you can't just turn chickenshit into chicken salad.

Start by having them block the guy in front of them. Hell, have them point to the guy they've got if we need to. Tyler Moore looked like a gd kicking tee that someone left on the field for the DE to step over.

Also, I don't know what's going on with our snap count, but we are literally telling the DL when we are going to snap the ball with that weird guard tap thing we do.

OL coach should probably not commit to the local long-term cell phone contract. All other coaches who are even remotely connected to OL play should also be on high alert.

Yeah but it goes a step further; we need to figure out why we consistently lose those recruiting battles, and why we can't recalibrate once we do. Even if this means we take on projects. There is no reason we don't sign 4-5 OL every year and 6-7 after a bad year. Then we need to figure out why the guys we do take fall out so much....my fear is that the two are related (players not liking or respecting their position coach).

Sorry, I don't buy the problem is talent. Sure, there is a weak link or two. But we go two deep with guys that every program in the nation was after. They aren't all busts.

Agree. TE coach needs to go as well.

This all may be moot if we finish out 5-7. There will be an entire new coaching staff. The only coaches retained may be one or two of the defensive assistants (Robinson, maybe?)....

Trouble with a new coach, among other things, is that unless we have a Johnny Manziel waiting in the wings we're doomed to at least a couple years of a complete rebuild, transfers, lost recruits, etc. There's also the problem of who's available? It's not like we have a choice of hiring any coach in the country that we want.

It's seriously overdue for the OL overhaul since 2010, really.

OL Recruiting plus OL and TE coach changes, too

Yes. Although TE may be one spot where talent (recruiting and bad luck) is indeed an issue. But there is zero productivity there too, so yeah, unless the TE coach is some sort of secret savant (I don't even know who it is) then he's a candidate for the first round of dismissals too.

Did I really need to say "new HEAD coach" for you to understand the point?

I don't know who handles the TEs but get rid of him as well...that position is a total disaster...our tight ends can't even manage to get on the field to mess up.

This. I kept an eye on this today. There was no variance in the timing between the pat and the snap. Mystifying.

Not really... aside from Humphries. we don't have a single 5 star recruit on the OL two deep. And the OL is only as strong as its weakest link.

When I played, our coaches always said if you can't hear the snap count, watch the ball, when it is being hiked, then block. It worked. Our guys seem to be looking for someone to tell them when to go. Unbellevable. Boom is in over his head as a head coach. Without someone who knows offense and identity of offense, get them in here and let them coach. We are falling apart. Vandy looks decent, Ga is falling like us, but Ga at least has an identity on offense. SC, Fsu know what to do on offense and can at least score 20 on anybody. I don't see us having a winning record. We are going to be TV momentum fodder for the rest of the SEC. Foley staying quiet is telling. Will the media please grow some and ask Foley how he feels now.
