A pox on all their heads. Cowardly RHINOs... Why doesn't Boehner just switch parties and make it official. There is no political party that represents freedom and individual liberty. There are few politicians that can effectively speak to fiscal responsibility. The political class versus the producers.... we will lose... And then we will shrug...

    http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Govern...t-seek-to-use-procedural-trick-to-pay-for-law

Sources close to House conservative leaders have confirmed to Breitbart News that House GOP leadership is planning to cave and fund Obamacare’s implementation for at least the rest of 2013.

Breitbart News’ source, a high-ranking conservative movement figure close to House conservatives, said that this CR from House leadership will continue to pay for Obamacare’s implementation without cutting from current levels of taxpayer funding for the healthcare law’s rollout, despite claims from Boehner’s office it will “include defunding ObamaCare.” The source said the budget riders that will be attached to the CR can be removed easily by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, allowing him to pass a CR through the Senate funding Obamacare--a procedural move that does not require the House to revisit its CR and makes the Senate version final.

The source added that House Majority Leader Eric Cantor is “shopping an idea of passing defund through the House with the CR, but with a mechanism that would allow it to be decoupled in the Senate, defeated, and then the base CR be passed without coming back to the House.”

The source said the conservative movement should “reject and pan” this “trick” from Cantor, which allows House GOP members to claim they voted to defund Obamacare but allows Reid to strip out budget riders defunding Obamacare and pass a Senate CR without them.

This is a perfect example of why pubs can't win national elections. There are no grown ups in the party.

Don't like Obamacare? Win some elections and overturn it.

Moreover, if you are going to support a policy of "do whatever it takes to achieve our goals," then don't whine when the Dems do the same thing.

Fred, the leader of the Dem party, just said that another party doesn't have grownups?

Eh? The party of welfare/food stamps/disability is the party of grownups?

Don't envy Boehner there. He keeps having to promise the crazies impossible things to keep the government functioning, then distract them and promise them new impossible stuff at some point in the future when the time comes because the things he promised are you know, not achievable or realistic. Obamacare can't simply be "defunded," and shutting down the government would be a disaster for the GOP. Boehner knows this, but he has to deal with fanatics who see this as a viable tactic for achieving policy goals.

Moc, the goal of the GOP is to rhetorically appear to try to do something when in reality they operate to assure they do absolutely nothing. It is the GOP structure and it silly to think otherwise. Whether it is Jeb presenting a Liberty Medal to Hillary on 9/10, Boehner assisting the WH how to influence house GOP votes on Lybia, or Rubio serving a chit to the dupes who put him in office. At what point does reality strike? Make your money, pay your taxes, have fun and live each day like it is your last. Leave the politics to the snakes. Nobody said you have to feed them with your time, energy, belief or political donations.

The crazies would be us. You know, the ones paying the taxes and additional premiums for the subsidies and 15 M new Medicaid recipients. The crazies are those who reject Obamacare at 57%-43%. The crazies are their constituents. There are a few members of congress who actually listen.

BTW- My wife wrote Senator Nelson an email to not support strikes against Syria. His constituents are 3-1 against. Nelson's staff sent an email form letter back as to why he is supporting strikes. He doesn't listen. Never has.

Congress has voted like 40 times to repeal, so I think they hear your crazy self loud and clear. ;) The problem is, there are limits to their political power. You're dealing with a democratically passed law, which a) can't simply be "defunded" (because much of the funding is in fact, mandatory) and b) can't be disposed of simply by kicking and screaming in the form of shutting down the government or refusing to pay for unrelated spending (not raising the debt ceiling).

If you ever spent any time with Nelson you would realize he is an empty suit, with a few too many face lifts, who tows the party line. He represents the DEM Party not you. He will smile, tell you he appreciates your opinion, and do what exactly he is told to do. He does not even have to think. He has excellent people skills, is almost never confrontational, and is very good at getting elected, nothing more.

Obamacare was passed on a Sunday afternoon using an 11th hour procedural parlor trick. This whole mess started by the Dems doing whatever it took to achieve their goals.

Which is exactly the number of votes from Republicans they needed to pass it. So ... ? There have been 2 elections since passage in which voters could have sufficiently empowered the various branches of government to do away with the law. They have not.

Then the SCOTUS should have overturned it.

It is the law of the land. Deal with it as a grownup would.

Fred - there are at least diagreements within the Republican Party instead of walking lock step with some of the worst legislation possible. Funny that you of all people are calling out who is grown up.

Some here enjoy making my point for me.

If you don't like what government is doing, win an election.

If you want to use tricks and workarounds, don't bitch when the opposition does the same.

100% party-line vote on Obamacare is proof of how the pubs don't walk in lock step?
