Any recommendations on hotels that are cheap but clean for gameday? We used to stay at the rush lake motel, clean, cheap and always available. I heard they are knocking it down due to being purchased by shands. Doesnt need to be 5 star. The days inn is affordable and available. Has anyone stayed there?

I live just an hour away so I never book a room. I have researched this before for a friend and found the Paramount (the old Hilton on south 441) fit his need at the time.

If you're wanting to nail this down soon, I'd look at TripAdvisor.com. You'll have to call to see if they have special policies for game weekends like 2-night minimums, premium pricing, etc.

But you can check reviews at TripAdvisor about a particular place.

By the way, that Days Inn has terrible recent reviews. I wouldn't stay there based on what I read, and I'm not fussy. There seem to be several in that price range.

Sad to see the Bambi is also very poorly rated. I kinda always wanted to stay there just once.

Make a decision and invite them to join you. Otherwise the committee will box you into great expense and angst.

We've stayed at the Red Roof Inn a few times and were pleased for what it is.

I was actually able to score a 4 bed 2 bath furnished condo for the weekend. 500 bucks for 8 adults and 5 kids. Thanks for the suggestions though.

    Enjoy!
