I'll throw this in here too :

    http://washington.cbslocal.com/2014/05/07/nintendo-says-no-to-gays-in-life-simulator-video-game/

"Nintendo Says No To Gays In Life Simulator Video Game"

"LOS ANGELES (CBSDC/AP) — Nintendo isn’t allowing gamers to play as gay in an upcoming life simulator game.

The publisher of such gaming franchises as “The Legend of Zelda” and “Mario Bros.” said Tuesday it wouldn’t bow to pressure to allow players to engage in romantic activities with characters of the same sex in English editions of “Tomodachi Life.” This follows a social media campaign launched by fans last month seeking virtual equality for the game’s characters, which are modeled after real people.

“Nintendo never intended to make any form of social commentary with the launch of ‘Tomodachi Life,’” Nintendo of America Inc. said in a statement. “The relationship options in the game represent a playful alternate world rather than a real-life simulation. We hope that all of our fans will see that ‘Tomodachi Life’ was intended to be a whimsical and quirky game, and that we were absolutely not trying to provide social commentary.......”"

...So much for society "coming to grips."

    Troubling.

Of course it's a Japanese company so they are a little less evolved. 70 years ago they were rampaging through the pacific enslaving South Korean women and sending our prisoners on death marches.

I watch a lot of HGTV. They are very VERY gay friendly (understandably so). Was there any evidence that their show espoused their political views or do you just believe anyone with views different from yours should be punished?

In this country , personal opinion is becoming a thing of the past, unless you agree the fanatics of the left.

You are welcome to homophobic opinions but don't be surprised if it costs you your job or a potential job. Good piece of advice is to keep your facebook page private and avoid protesting gay people in public.

Written by OP: "That said how could they not have vetted these creeps."

So, people who believe differently than you are "creeps"? Good to know. I'll add it to the list of the other things any conservative evangelical is: evil, mean, misogynistic, xenophobic; or, to summarize - kind of anyone who believes people should be responsible for themselves, obey the law and helping your fellow man is something you do because you love them or are called to take care of your brother, not a check you write to a centralized processing center that doles out pennies on the dollar while absorbing the majority of the revenue in administration. Got it. Thanks.

To me this is no different than a the network giving in to a right wing group who didn't like a program where the hosts were openly pro gay.

Was their anythying in my post about being homophobic. Some need to understand what they read. Being against or for anyone or anything was not what I posted. I said personal opinion is now a thing of the past, period.
Stifling opinion is going to destroy this country and that move is led by the left.

So it's your contention that Japanese are a less "evolved" group of humans, is it? That's an interesting opinion for such a tolerant, worldly, and progressive poster...

Evolved in the sense that they haven't fully embraced diversity and are recently separated from rather barbaric behavior. Don't be obtuse.

Well, I'm not disagreeing with you by any means: I suspect that going to work yelling "black people suck" would get you fired and "gay people suck" would also get you fired. But yelling "Christians suck?" Meh, I'd say your odds are 50-50 (at worst) for getting canned. You might be warned to knock it off, but termination? Unless you work at a Christian store, it wouldn't be guaranteed.

Problem is: all three statements are bigoted. Yet many leftists want to ignore religious bigotry in the name of "tolerance" and "diversity"--but reject those buzzwords when it's applied to differing opinions on race and sexuality.

So you use your opinion as a battering ram and that is ok?
I guess in your world, some opinions, as long as you agree with them , are ok.
Certainly there are criticisms, responses, and racists remarks that should not be uttered, but everyone has an opinion.

I disagree with you on the Christians suck bit.. That might fly in some Silicon Valley startup but I've worked at some of the biggest companies in America and I guarantee that would get you tossed.

I don't, you won't see me in front on a church protesting (except maybe the westboro baptists).
