I saw a great movie the other day and I would recommend it to believers and non believers. As Reverend Burpo points out in this clip, it really all comes down to one question.... 'Do really believe what you say you do?'

Can you believe what doesn't make sense to you?

If not, the method of getting into this heaven of yours, is quite flawed.

Prayer has worked for me many times and I pray the prayers I have lifted for you and continue to lift for you will also be answered.

108, every complex living thing evolving from a single cell amoeba makes sense to you? Your only explanation is possibly, maybe, could have and given enough time anything can happen.

See, you do have faith. Misguided, but faith none the less.

Nothing about existence makes any sense at all. Some use mysticism to try to make sense of it. Others use observation and rational thought. It's ironic that the mystics attempt to bring the rationals down to their level by accusing rationals of being mystics too. Basically they are saying 'you're no better than I am. Your theories are just as sketchy as mine'. Doesn't seem like a very good way to debate to me.

Well, it's not as it rationalism is empirically verifiable. Or do you think that that fairplay precludes pointing that out ?

Just making my point for me. Your mysticism isn't verifiable, so you say rationalism isn't verifiable either.

You missed the point, which is that that's not the point of the rationalists. We're simply leveling the playing field.

So your explanation of something coming from nothing is.......................?

Your explanation of 40 "authors", over 1500 years in three languages, on three continents coming together in unity on one subject "Jesus Christ" would be....?

108 (and others) just don't have the ability to comprehend that we ALL have already won the lottery. The mere fact that we exist, when compared to the odds against it happening in the first place, are far greater than the odds in any lotto.

108... You HAVE won the lottery...

Existence may well be overrated. As miserable as you cons are all the time, I'm surprised you think so highly of it.

If Christians, Muslims, Buddhists ... whoever, believe what they believe, it's fine with me. But the idea that "something can't come from nothing" proves God's existence is pretty silly.
