I guess the twins won the battle from dad on this one....glad to see that. If they would have left they would have been in the D League for sure.

It is going to be nice to see our freshmen ease into the college game then learn by being thrown into the fire.

Had Kentucky not returned their starting PG, than the wildcats would have been in some kind of a hot mess next season with only the freshman PG, Ulis, as the primary ballhandler for 30+ games. The other Harrison who plays SG was just a bonus for the wildcats. It would have been similar to UF's struggles in 2010 (loss to BYU in 1st Rd) when Irving Walker was the main ballhandler for the Gators - by recruiting Wilbekin & others in the following season, this allowed UF to stabilize that position (PG) without Walker getting worn out so much by the end of a season.

Nonetheless, teams like Florida (defeated UK thrice), Arkansas(defeated UK twice), LSU, South Carolina and others that have quick guards that can press and/or have good front-courts will have a major say on who ultimately wins the SEC next season. What was so remarkable about Florida's 2014 team were the seniors' ability to stay so focused and perform each and every game; especially, on the road and late in the season when the conference title was already won. No one relaxed mentally on that UF team.

I doubt that UK goes 40-0 next season or anywhere close to that. This UK team will more likely get bored of their schedule at times and drop some games unexpectedly. Also, last year's Kentucky team has not really shown the ability to win consistently on the road (5-4 in the sec) or blow out good opponents like their 2012 team did.

Calipari's scorecard for getting one-and-done players drafted the last two years. Have I missed anyone?

    2012/13
    Noel -- Yes
    Goodwin -- Yes
    Poythress -- No
    Cawley-Stein -- No
    Harrow -- No (transfer)

    2013/14
    Poythress -- No
    Cawley-Stein -- No
    Randle -- Yes
    Young -- Yes
    Aa. Harrison -- No
    An. Harrison -- No
    Lee -- No
    Johnson -- No

What's this they say about Calipari getting one-and-done's ready for the NBA??? The bloom is off the rose.

I could see some transfers on that Kentucky team in the near future if some of those 5*'s don't become a starter or play major minutes by their sophmore years: i.e, PF's Marcus Lee, Derek Willis, etc. I am surprised that Poythress & Dakari Johnson stuck around so long and/or decided to return with all of that logjam in the front-court (Trey Lyles, Karl Townes, WCS, etc.). For Poythress, it may have worked out this year if he is the starter at SF - can he hit from the perimeter? Johnson on the other hand will fight for playing time with 4-5 other post players!

Maybe that is a good thing...some are ready and some aren't and some on your list if Jesus was the coach wouldn't have been ready to leave after one year.

If they are not willing to be team players and be competitive and wait their turn then they need to leave! Maybe they want to be team players and not demand time as others have in the past.

The Harrison twins were the only two returnees that really mattered for UK. Without them, they had a very thin and inexperienced back court that left them almost no chance at a title of any kind. With them, they have a team that can contend for both conference and national titles.

They now go 5-6 deep in the post, with 4 players that would start almost any place in the country, two experienced guards that can lead them, and strong freshmen to back up those guys. Small forward will probably be manned by a combination of the guards and power forwards (mostly Poythress) splitting time. This is not ideal, and whether they can put enough shooters on the court at the same time will be a small question. Still, there is no doubt that this team will be one of the favorites to win it all.

Of course, we should be as well, and the battles between UF and UK in 2015 will be fun to watch.

Maybe so. But, the myth that all you have to do is go to UK and be coached by Cal for 6 months and you'll be drafted in the first round or, better yet, a lottery pick has been debunked.

Good write up, Harris will be key, walker needs 15 lbs of muscle and some offensive confidence, hill needs to get that jumper down, guy will be trouble if he develops a real jumper

Gator Bait ! Twins will feel the pain of going 0 - 6 against the Gators in their over-hyped career's.

Now that Cal has introduced them to this radical concept he calls "passing" they should be very good indeed.

UK will be preseason #1 now. They really needed the Harrison twins to stay and should now be crazy deep.

The Harrison brothers came on strong after Calipari's "tweak/twerk". They wouldn't have made it to the Elite 8 without Harrison's last second 3.

Or maybe it was the Chris Paul commercial that did that?

They're going to be very, very good next year. If Young and the Harrison twins had known how to shoot at the beginning of the season, completely different year for those guys.

Granted the two guys with the most pro talent are the ones who left, but the Harrison twins were pretty good as freshmen. So was Johnson. And the light may have come on for Poythress in the tournament. If it stays on, look out.

It will be a two-team race for the SEC regular season championship, and likely will come down to the last game. Every team not named Gators or Wildcats will be playing for a distant 3rd place.
