Good for Billy and the team.
I wish Demontre the best where ever he lands and I hope he can get his stuff together. College is all about personal growth, and sometimes it takes the hard way for some lessons to sink in.
All we need to know right here..
Wow ignoring coaches for 10 days in a row?? Not good!
Would have really been nice to have a true center backup
One of the strangest stories I ever heard
some people just don't want to put in the work. it happens.
Just makes me wonder what this kid was thinking? Doesn't make sense. Oh well, at least that is a done deal and we can move forward with the team we have.
We have had good luck with transfers coming in and this one just didn't work out.
Can you imagine what a cancer he was at USC. We don't miss what we never had. Fork em
Writing's been on the wall awhile. Good for Billy in standing his ground.
Good luck to Damontre. Hope he can turn it around elsewhere.
opens up another scholly and we need a big man
The worst part of this is that it may have pushed away other recruits like Embiid or Abu. This hurts in a lot of aspects.
I don't recall that really being an issue. We really didn't recruit Embiid that hard until very late, while Abu was more concerned about Walker and DFS at the four than Harris. Now, it may have have stinted our pursuit of other bigs beyond a select few (Rimmer comes to mind), but I don't think it cost us any who would have come otherwise.
Kid really did himself a disservice that he will later regret. Billy is known as a good guy who helps kids develop into men. If he sees you are probably going down a wrong path, it probably would've been best for Harris to listen.
Lesser coaches would've let Harris get away with what he was doing, to the detriment of the team and the program. He may find that somewhere else, but he'll end up for a rude awakening.
Sounds lazy, undisciplined, and entitled.
Hope he turns it around.
He left Billy no choice
That assumes the coaches weren't relying on Harris' contribution. I don't see how having a talented big man on your roster for the next two to three years wouldn't have affected how Donovan and crew recruited.
Yeah, gotta believe a talented big man's presence on the roster would have added at least a little hesitation in those recruits' minds along the way.
Something to remember the next time we "only" make it to the Elite Eight. If Billy can't do it the right way, it isn't going to get done.
Love the way Billy handles the program.
