Watching the draft, Cleveland took a cb in the first round...the telecast talked about how it was a good pick with a lockdown corner in Haden. This got me to thinking as to which one is a better corner.....other than the experience that Haden has over VH III I can't figure which I would take...both started as freshmen and I know that time will tell....but as of now, who would you take if you could only take one?

I'd have to go with VH3, but it's kind of like splitting hairs.

VHIII is considered a rock star and I don't know that JH ever really had that kind of upside/status as a Gator, until he was a senior. That said, JH is arguably among the best two or three Gator corners ever. My pick is JH and it isn't that hard. He's now a known commodity.

VH3 and I don't think it's even that tough. Joe was good, but he didn't really shine until after his freshman year.

He is a known commodity, agreed, but I think VH could enter the draft right now and go in the first two rounds. I don't think you could have said that about Joe. If VH levels off at right where he is now, then I suppose you'd have to go with Joe, but I think when it's all said and done, VH could be the best CB to come through Gainesville.

That's saying something because we've had a few good ones in the past...two that come to mind is lito Shepard and keiwan Ratliff...I believe JH and VHIII are better than both.

Both games are stellar. I believe hat VH III is a more cerebral back that has to work harder. I believe Haden is a more physically gifted back and is a beast to beat but isn't as cerebral as VH III...it's a perfect standoff.

JH is the complete package at CB. To be able to shut down AJ Green on the boundary with Stafford at qb is crazy. He can play on speed guys and physical WRs and is easily the best cb in run support we've had in quite some time. The hype around VH3 is unreal, but this is a guy that has not yet locked down a single #1 and showed difficulty with big WRs like Bennett (uga). I'd argue that JH and JJ both had better freshman years.

Haden wasn't very good his freshmen year. Jenkins Roberson and VH3 played better their freshmen year. Those 3 also played CB in high school while Haden played QB.

I don't remember JH getting the hype that VH III is getting for his sophomore campaign...although there were these two guys at QB and WR when JH was at UF...so far, VH III is living up to the hype.

yeah but as stated Haden was a QB in highschool and we had NO pass rush to speak of on the 07 team that year. Haden developed extremely fast all things considered. i know you picked haden i'm just pointing out why he didn't have the freshman year the other guys had

Judging from their freshman year in college only? I'll take VH3 by a hair...

Haden gave up a lot of completions in front of him as a freshman. He played way off most receivers. He improved every year and was a sure tackler. VH3 was great from the time he stepped on campus. Plays tight man and is a good tackler. If he stays healthy we'll be wishing him well after the '15 season. Both are great players and should be two of the better CB's in the NFL in 2 years.

It's because Haden wasn't very good as a freshman. He was a converted QB from high school. What do you expect? I remember thinking at the time, "we'll never see this kid again--he'll be buried in the depth chart". He did all right. VHIII could eventually be better, but he isn't there yet. Haden may get my vote as most improved scholarship player of the last decade. That says a lot about the coaching he got at UF, in addition to his own abilities.
