At 42 yrs old, I finally joined a gym. Not really sure I know what the hell I'm doing. 5'7" 181 lbs....was 186 lbs when I joined 2-3 weeks ago. Am wondering if going to the gym everyday is too much? If I do cardio/upper body one day and then cardio/lower body the next, and then repeat, is that too much?

Really depends on your intensity and recovery. I think for most people its best to take a few days off. You can try doing your schedule with a day off in between if you arent recovering from your previous workouts. So, upper-lower-rest-repeat. Ultimately, though do what you enjoy and is still benefiting you.
