I think 6 will prove to be low, Jeff and kelvin can be elite players

We are set at RB. QB is still very much a question mark.

Still don't know about Matt Jones, but Adam Lane is going to be as good as Taylor IMO.

And for the first time since Dan Mullen, we actually have an OC who knows how to develop a QB in Roper.

Allegedly... Still has yet to be seen, really, but I do have faith based on reports.

A week back I needed something on tv while I did some busy work so I rewatched some of Duke's bowl game last year. The one thing I kept thinking was that the TE will once again be JD's best friend. I honestly think the addition of McGee could be a two-game swing.

After that I noticed a number of plays that made me think of the backfield. Jones and Ajagbe have the skill set Roper is looking for in a number of ways and if he can get to 240ish I think we see Jones on the field at the same time as the smaller guys. He gives enough effort as a blocker to go with very good hands and someone the opposing safety doesn't want to see in the open field. Ajagbe to a lesser extent (I also wouldn't be surprised if we can flip Cox bc of this). One of his base running plays has the 'B' iso the OLB and then he runs a wheel off of that to keep that same OLB guessing. I feel bad for Joyer bc I don't know what his role will be. The other thing I noticed was how well the QBs were coached in certain situations. JDs ability to go through progressions has been questioned, but there were numerous plays that the QB had someone in his face immediately and, without looking, already knew where he was going with the ball bc of the pressure. Lastly, and more responding to this article, the rb that can catch the ball will win carries. It won't be enough to be the best runner (Taylor) bc if that player has too many drops Roper will see it as limiting his O.

This guy has never heard of Eli Manning.

By the way, great stuff I just read from an interview with Roper:

Q: What do you tweak mechanically when it comes to the deep ball or the touch throws?

Roper: "With the touch throws, you gotta feel it come out of your fingers more. It's almost like he's not feeling it roll off his index finger enough. What I'm trying to get him to do, is on touch throws, get him up a little bit more on his toes and really feel it come out of his fingers, so it's less arm and more fingers. On the down-the-field throws, it's the same thing. When you finish, you have to finish a little bit higher with your release and feel it come off your fingers to control the amount of air. A lot of guys will throw it too flat. That's what happens when they try to over-throw it or try to strong-arm it. He needs more touch, more fingers on both those types of throws."

Because people said I had no idea what I was talking about when I referenced that more than anything else, I think "touch" is what Jeff has to work on. I'm glad Roper sees exactly what I'm saying. Then again, I have no idea what I'm talking about, so hopefully Roper, the guy who works with Driskel exclusively in practice, doesn't have this all wrong.

I'm not that naive, and don't you be either... I'm talking about with our team. Remember our QB coach/asst offensive coordinator Scot Leoffler? He coached Tom Brady... Yeah, he was great for our Gators... Again, still has yet to be seen with our guys.

I believe that we will win ..
    O excuse me ..
Black hole .. sinkhole .. time warp moment there ..
    Where was I ..
    O yes ..
I believe Driskel will light it up this season and a LOT of people will be shocked by our offense.
I'm talking short passes and long runs by our running backs, tight end and wide receivers.
And Jeff breaking off some runs too.
    But SSHHHH.

IMHO a key to our offense succeeding this season is if Will leaves the play calling to Roper.

I agree with the fingers, hard to believe Jeff does not know this already, it's common sense to anybody that's played any qb at all

I too think the o will be better than people expect, I want to see a quick read or two and then Jeff bolt. If he can handle that and not be a statue back there I think we outperform.

Think he'll be a bowling ball out of the backfield if Roper's offense comes together.

I don't know what will happen with Mack Brown and Matt Jones. I'm not counting on them but naturally hope they have big years. I expect Adam Lane and KT to be big though.

Play calling and philosophy are two different things. Muschamp didn't call plays.

When Will says run the ball we ran the ball we didn't pass. It's splitting hairs to say he didn't directly influence what was called.
