If you think Urban bailed because of pressure...check out what 24-1 gets you in Columbus....

Should have stayed at UF, not eaten so much pizza after a game and just recruited top OL recruits.

23 wins and one loss, wow. I thought UM quit on uf, just my take but he's a very good coach. It's not like they lost to a bad team. Osu beat their rivals and have won games they should win. True, big ten is like a wac conference but for osu to hate on um, well that's fan base. We all find something to gripe about I guess...

He won't last as long in Columbus as he did in Gville.

That's life in the HC'ing business, heavy pressure, big $$'s. I guess like anything else, you are only as good as your last game. I doubt he'll ever win the big one at OSU, especially now that the new system will be implemented.

So adorable to see them realize the truth. Urban's always been conservative & some games the team won "despite" Meyer's coaching. OSU fans forget Urban had Mullen, Strong, and ole Timmy Tebow.

Apparently, the fans at Ohio State are just as overrated as the team. What a bunch of posers.

...or I was trying to wet the fire that burns here claiming he left because of fan pressure, by pointing out that 24-1 brings heat in Columbus.

Just because a few spoiled fans are upset does not mean most ohio state fans want Urban gone. He's a great HC. The talent he's brought to the roster won't really be ready til next year, year after. But they are recruiting well enough to compete with anyone on a talent basis going forward. However, I don't think that QB an OSU fan was on here bragging about will be that good, no better than Braxton Miller.

The real key to a HC's success imo is yeah, philosophy, but maybe more important his Asst Coaches. Mullen was HUGE for meyer's success at UF. I doubt he as an OC and support staff to coach that well.

I guess that 2006 national championship game where he crushed OSU didn't count as coaching?!?!

Criticism from stupid fans is going to follow any coach, no matter where they go.

Good point. It seems that a few OSU fans have forgotten that Urb and the Gators crushed another overrated Buckeyes team.

I believe Urb said Braxton was best QB he ever coached. How soon he forgot about Timmy. He says what he
thinks you want to hear........glad he's theirs. He can't handle the pressure!!

LOL. Urban's lost 1 game in two years at OSU, with two undefeated regular seasons. He won two MNCs and owned our rivals while he was here, but is not a "big game coach"? Sheesh ... OSU fans are morons. They just need to shut up and enjoy their current 24-1 record (or whatever it is) because these types of runs don't last forever.

They are about as clueless as the come (at least those posters were). They should be happy they aren't still on post season probation with the crap that went on under the sweater vest.

With all due respect, the OP's cherry picking of 5 comments on an internet forum is not exactly representative of the Buckeye fan base. 99.9% are extremely happy with Meyer. If he someday gives reason not to be, then opinions will change across a broader base. You'll always have the insufferable fans who can't handle losing one game in a two year period. How easily they forget that that Ohio State was 6-7 the year before Meyer arrived.
