    This is really quite simple...

Murphy plays lights out the rest of the year, rockets up the draft boards and decides to come out early

Driskel fully heals for next year, lives up the expectation and leaves after 2014

Then it's wide open for Grier in 2015.

    :)

I saw him participate on the elite 11 program with Trent Dilfer and he is the real deal.

Dont rule out Driskel as our next all world converted TE from our QB pool. I for one think he would be great at that.

Dont think it will happen, but...

After the last few years there are few things I would rule out, but that is one of them. He would graduate and transfer before he played TE.

Agreed, but you have to admit, if he has nice hands, he would make an excellent TE.

What ends up happening with Will Grier largely depends on how TM plays this season I think. I think it's very premature to criticize Muschamp and Pease given the players we currently have but if we don't improve the rest of this year and them go in to next season looking like we'll be just as pedestrian, it's going to be very hard to sit Grier.

There have been qb's in the history of the game that have played and done very well as true freshmen.

Yes, get all of your school/classes in order and you'll have more time to study football/film as a starter. And, he can get bigger and stronger while you learn the system.

And one of them is on our sidelines as a GA.

And that young man belongs on our Ring of Honor in my opinion. Only 3 qb's have led us to a national title and Chris is one of them.

Sure would be a nice feeling to have a bunch of talented players competing for the Gator QB job in a year or two. I love Grier's attitude!

He is going to have to beat out 4 scholarship QB's that have all been in the system. That is a hard thing to do. Especially when at least two will have seen significant playing time.

That's the way it's supposed to work. I hope for 2 great years with JD as a champion QB and Grier getting valuable lessons and experience behind him when Jeff is a Senior.

Is it a certainty that JD will want to play FB again? With his history of injuries in about one and a half full seasons he might want to start thinking about his life after football and whether he wants to take a chance on being hobbled the rest of his life. The Red Sox may be looking better and better.

It's only a valid option if Jeff graduates soon and Tyler blows up this yr and locks down the starting job next season..

I don't see Grier coming in here as a true freshman and starting. Now if Murphy turns out to be the second coming of Jordan Reed/Tre Burton and Driskel doesn't make any positive progress in recovering from his injury and/or learning how to be a QB in big time football, then all bets are off.

I think its very possible that he does indeed redshirt. If Murphy beats out Driskel next year, then I could see Jeff opting for baseball or graduating and transferring somewhere where he can get a full year in as a starter.

That's certainly a factor to be sure. All I'm saying is that how TM plays will certainly be a factor because if we end up this season with 5 or more losses, it would in all likelihood be because of our offense's shortcomings and the pressure on Muschamp and Pease is going to get awfully high. And if we do redshirt Will Grier and then have a 4th season of a struggling offense, it could lead to those guys not even having a shot at a 5th season in Gainesville.

And don't get me wrong, I do think Muschamp knows what he's doing and I have all the faith in the world in him but we all know that in Gainesville, Fl, you produce a winner or you get sent out of town.
