I can't figure out why people seem to think that "the government" is one single entity. It isn't.

Congress, Prince Barry and his cronies act as though they're royalty. Larson, the democrat representative complaining about his staffers being on obamacare, is the posterboy for this. It's nauseating.

As long as politicians have to bribes for campaign funds, they'll have to follow THE agenda.

All the Federal Government Agencies, that I can recall, are run by Obama's cronies... so yes they are acting as one "single entity". And, just like Media Matters tells the DEM's what the propaganda words and phases of the day are, the Obama agencies get their dictates from Obama too.

Exactly. The "government" consists of thousands of people, each with their own perspective and aims.

To begin, the president doesn't personally hire every government employee, as some people seem to think. Beyond that, people working for the govt have been hired under every administration over the past 10, 20, 30 years.

Take the thousands part of your response, muliply it to get the real number of people and the costs associated with each and you'll have a better idea of what many people's issue with 'government' is.

the executive branch and congress are corrupt to the core---in the pocket of the big money to keep getting reelected and huge lobbying / speech deals when they leave office.

I'm not arguing that, LW. You'll want to take that up with geaux who is making hypocrisy the issue.

Well clearly many posters here that believe everything is Obama's fault. I don't think there is much that change that view.

I know of exactly zero liberals who like government spying.

However, I know lots of cons who said boo about it when pubs were in charge of it.

    That's the REAL hypocrisy.

Hypocrisy is a charge that gets misused continuously here. People seem very confused by it, especially when blasting an entire side of the spectrum. "Some Democrats say this, others say that ... therefore they're all hypocrites."
Makes no sense, really. Kind of like saying that because some Gators praise Meyer and others criticize him, all Gators are hypocrites.

No doubt the concept of hypocrisy is often misunderstood (though not as much as irony). One of my favorites was a thread that argued Obama was a hypocrite because he didn't favor requiring IDs to vote, but people needed IDs to get into the democratic convention. In this sense, he was already a hypocrite for not advocating requiring IDs to use the roads.

I still think that you are misunderstanding me. I never argued that the government was beneficial. All I was arguing is that contradictions in the "government" aren't exactly hypocrisy because the government isn't a single entity. So I'm not sure how your post applies to me.
