luckily we have a big family. so maybe down the road but probably no time soon. the other pooches sense it and are looking around and kind of bumming around too. this is what they looked like when i'm spending too much time on gc

I had to put 2 of my dogs down this year, one 16 and one 13. I know your pain and can say always remember the good times with your friend.

Sorry for the loss of the furry family member. I know time is running short on my rottie/shepherd mix. He's around 15-years old, and just isn't moving well anymore. And with 1 child and another on the way (October), we aren't going to be getting another dog soon. We just don't have the proper time to devote to another pooch, unfortunately. We do have 2 cats, who are going to miss the dog as much as we will.

My sincere sympathy. It is never easy to lose a family member. I have actually had people tell me, "Oh, it's just a dog." It is a family member. I have had to do it three times. It never gets easier.

Had to do that a couple of years ago with one who'd slept on my bed for 17 years. Man that is one tough day dude. I hate if for you.

    My condolensces, anstro...

I have a 10yr old who is my best bud and another that is 11 who is my wife's.

I'm getting chickens after they're gone. I think I'm done with dogs after them for a long while.

Sorry for the loss of your dear best friend. Other than a good wife, nothing better than a good dog.

Never gets easier, already starting to dread the next time here. They are called "mans best friend" for a reason. Think I'll give my girl a treat.

sorry about your lose, I am not looking forward to that day, and I know it will not be that far away. My girl is 14yrs old, and she is starting to go down hill by the month. I had to put my other dog down about six yrs ago, and I still miss him.

ahh man - so sorry to hear this -- I understand your pain.
Had one of my childhood dogs put down to spare her the pain.

Love the UF blanket. If its not too late, it is best to show the other dogs the body. I know it sounds bizarre, but it gives closure to the other dogs. Otherwise, they sit around for months wondering what happened. Dogs have a way of moving on when they know their buddy passed.

Sorry for your loss. My guys are 7, but I do not look forward to when their time comes. Life isn't fair to the furry kids.
