Just so you know, it is definitely not a Bianchi article, its just a good write up about Murphy with quotes from his HS coach. Although for your convenience, I put in what I think are the best parts.

Good for him and he deserves the praise. I look forward to him at the helm for the remainder of the year.

Great article, thanks for posting it. And you're right about the writer, Bianchi would have found a way to make it all about himself while hating on Gator Nation.

Thanks for sharing.... Its really great to read something like this. Obviously, Murphy's HS coach knew Tyler could be a success if he ever got the chance. Let's thank our lucky stars he decided to stay in Gainesville! Go Tyler!

Even here in Knoxville, they are praising the Tyler Murphy story.

I liked how he played, but I'm cautious about heaping expectations on him considering he's only played three quarters, and he had a number of gaffes that, had they been committed by JD, would have been considered treasonous by some fans. So let's just wait and see. And hope.

I'll take TM's "treasonous gaffes" over a pick 6 anyday, but that's just me.

Every article says he had never thrown a pass in college. Didn't he throw a pass on the fake PAT at Miami?

I don't think two point conversions count.

He threw three questionable balls that defenders were very close to getting, twice on dump-offs just over the line & once inexplicably throwing it away down the middle of the field. On the other hand he seems to have greater pocket awareness than JD. He's talented. He saved the game for UF. Can he replicate this performance over the remainder of the season? We'll see, I really hope so!

Every quarterback has a couple of close calls per game.

I know. I we could have a difficult year ahead of us & by pointing these out, I hope that people keep expectations in line so there isn't a bunch of griping if Murphy makes mistakes.

I agree that we should "temper" our expectations but the two center/QB exchanges that were muffed both came in the first half. This is one of the most critical exchanges that takes practice to get right. I thought Tyler did a much better job managing the position in the second half, which is what you would expect. With getting the increase in practice reps I don't think this will be an issue. He's going to make mistakes, how he handles it when they come will tell us more than the mistake itself.
