Years ago . . .while he was winning titles. . . I railed against Urban Meyer, suggesting he was embarrassing the program, was entirely self-motivated and was not the coach I wanted for our program.

Of course, I was crucified on these boards.

Fast forward . . . I am vindicated. And making another statement:

Muschamp IS the right coach for this program, and is building it the right way. He will succeed, and UF will mirror Bama in the near future.

    Ok.... Fire away! :)

Well, if you say so, I guess it's truth.

Let's give back the championship trophies and look forward to mirroring Bama in 5 years.

When exactly did you claim Meyer was embarrassing the program...while we were beating Ohio State or Oklahoma?

I think Urban was great, so this info might have the opposite effect.

Yes... Around that time.... while we were dealing with arrests and hearing our coach speak of his dream job.

i agree about muschamp. but lord, maybe we need to clean entire house on the offensive side of the ball. i never thought pease was a good OC. but im no expert, just making my conclusion based on what i watch. this o-line is sooo bad

I'd be curious as to what part you disagree with... My critique if Meyer or endorsement of muschamp? Or both?

watching the product WM has put on the field since Louisville reminds me that when polishing a turd all you really have is a shiny turd. WM is not the answer to fixing UF's program....anymore than Blaine Gabbert is the answer to fixing the Jacksonville Jaguars.

I questioned Pease from the get go. I'd like to keep Muschamp but jettison OC and OL coaches. I'd rather not promote Joker just yet either. Two former UK people in a row would be a little too much to stomach.

I never had a problem with Meyer while he was at UF. I'm not jumping on the fire Muschamp bandwagon either, I do think he needs to clean house on Offense after this season if he plans on sticking around.

First off, Hoops is a terrific Gator fan, esp. on the hoops side. On the other hand, the records of success (W/L) overall and against rivals says that this post is NUTZ!

I think almost everybody likes Muschamp the man. He is arguably much more likable than Urban from a personality standpoint. Right now, though is not exactly the time to declare him big man on campus. Meyer, who seemed to have a stone for a personality, was a winner.

P.S. Meyer is gone. Time to lay off any Meyer this or Meyer that propositions. It's preferable to think about the future at this juncture . . . imo.

Fair enough. I disliked him very quickly into his tenure. Tough to argue his results, so my opinion was not a popular one. Not until he bolted.

    Nonetheless... Fair reply.

Thanks for the kind words. I was not making my comment to lay blame at the feet of Meyer. I was only referencing my position to frame it against what I figured would also be an unpopular position: an endorsement of muschamp.

I am not suggesting him the current "big man on campus". He is anything but that right now. But i railed against Meyer at the height of his popularity. I'm supporting muschamps at the lowest depth of his free fall.

I may be dead wrong. But I'm going on record! Lol!
