Geraldo just blasted Meggs as being a FSU alumi and the typical good old boy DA He told the Heisman voters to read the whole deal before voting next week. He lowered the boom on the whole bunch. He more or less said the investigation was a joke

i just watched that too, and logged on to mention the same thing. what a joke. i don't know if winston raped her or not(none of us do) but i don't think anyone doubts that TPD and the state attorney are corrupt in this scenario. there should be an investigation into those crooks if anything.

Interesting that on warchant it is a closed item. No more posts are allowed about it. I do not think they will have the same success censoring the outside media. What is the outcry going to be should he win the Heisman and the national championship. Then shortly after the national title game the Dent trail will start. Any chance of that getting more coverage than they want?

Hopefully, the Feds lower the boom on the entire lot.

None of us will ever know the true story. But one thing is certain, this was badly mishandled. BADLY

What I heard from Meggs' press conference was they didn't have a case.

Not that he wasn't guilty of something.

    Two different things.

Not taking sides here......just telling it like it is.......

Never thought I'd see the day I gave you a negative remark, Bazza. Shame on me!

not disagreeing with you. but it does seem sketchy, there is no way around it. meggs, fsu grad, fsu law grad, fsu booster; laughing during the press conference. give me a break, he could'v been out mass murdering and they would have covered it up.

I can't believe we the taxpayers continue to allow our tax paid officials to get by with this kind of corrupt acts. They should be investigated. Everyone who watched the news had to know this was an absolute joke of justice, they were bought out.

Some cases you have to want to find the evidence

At best, it doesn't pass the smell test. What he should have done is recuse himself at the beginning and let someone outside Tallahassee to determine whether the case had merit to go forward. Now he has brought national media down on the criminal justice system.. Geraldo wants/needs a hook to get him back into the public's eye, will be take the bait? We shall see where it all leads

I'm pretty sure that girl is sitting on a fresh $100K or so to not say anything about the decision. Doubt she wanted to, but even the police intimidated her early on and told her how miserable her life would be. If she needed the money and a booster ponied up, I guess I could not blame her.

If not that, if her attorney said she was ANGRY they had never prosecuted the case, why hasn't she been shouting from the rooftops over this? Or getting Gloria Allred to do it for her?

We would do the same thing, but it would be out of embarrassment rather than denial.

I'm still convinced by Graygator's argument about Meggs. Aside from the obvious homerism, this buys some reprieve from his actions against the Liberty County Sheriff Finch. Then again Gov Medicare Fraud should be held accountable as well. Surprised he wasn't there to swap spit with Al Lawson

IMO, the smoking gun is the toxicology report. The TPD sat on her urine and blood evidence for 40 days before they submitted it to the FDLE. That's time enough for roofies or similar date rape drugs to magically go poof. She thinks the unknown guy who bought her the likely spiked drink could have been JW. He was "black, tallish, and kinda big."

I haven't read the 86 page long report for the FDLE.....it may include some information of the investigation that hasn't been previously been made "public". Not sure I want to spend the time reading it either.

    Anyone here read it yet?

Yep. They had a DNA match and a claim of rape. If it was Joe Blo from down on the corner, he'd be under the jail right now.
