Claiming not to trust this administration is not actually very good reasoning for not looking further into the validity and reliability issues of this adjustment for yourself.

Not least of which because despite governmental problems (as there always are), there are plenty of folks that work hard to get such models/numbers as exacting as possible. I say this with direct knowledge (not about the GDP, but other important numbers cited on these boards from time to time), and I also say this knowing that there are few models that will perfectly capture such hugely complex things and that it is and will always be imperfect. But it's never a good excuse to not at least try to make such determinations for oneself.

Call me paranoid when it comes to this administration and it's transparency. And who do we have to "watch" Washington? Our formerly "free" media? Freedom of the press has been replaced by we bet on this guy and are heavily invested and..."don't want to lose my seat on airforce one and the many junkets."

You started this thread based upon an article from the same press you don't trust.

Uh, this was an article reporting on reconfiguring GDP which I suspect supports the "story line of the regime". I'm actually pretty skeptical of anyone claiming they have gone back and "adjusted" prior year data to reflect changes implemented. For every Media Voice crying foul or pointing out Administration lies, their are 10 promoting his bull shit no growth socialist policies. The media unfortunately have become "spin doctors" for the regime.

So what you're saying is that you believe the part of the article that fits YOUR story line, but are skeptical of the parts that may not support YOUR story line?

You got it. I should trust anything coming out of this administration? Why? Obama makes Nixon look like a youth pastor.
