What the hell does that even mean? Is there something that we don't know? Of course there is.

Actually, it seems to have been said in 1992. Whether Emmanuel would say the same thing today as the current mayor of Chicago, I don't know, but he didn't say it yet as the current mayor.

I assume it's similar to what I've been saying for some time. That wedge issues like this, abortion, etc. are more about fundraising for the political non-profits (and the parties) that push them than actually creating effective policy.

It's why they never end. It's why Gay Rights/Marriage/Etc. will never end. Abortion will never end. Gun Control will never end. There is no motive whatsoever for these organizations to do anything (see: resolution) that would stop the gravy train.

And that's my biggest disappointment with the USSC's decision. It basically just kicked the can down the road.

Let's not forget that Rahm Emmanuel made the statement back in 1992. Let's also not forget that the subject was campaign fundraising. Emmanuel identified gays as an affluent and, at the time, untapped demographic that could be persuaded to make contributions to candidates likely to support their political agenda.

This is true in life as well. I've seen numerous articles in Advertising trade pubs that go over this in detail. Double income, no kids (in most cases), lots of disposable income and a willingness to spend it. Also, gays are great customers, and intensely loyal to businesses they see as gay friendly.

I once thought of an idea to create a national chain of Gay Bars/Restaurants. Sort of a "Friday's" of Gay Bars if you like. The beauty. Just issue the press release and let the Libs and Cons do all my marketing for me, then reap the profits when gays flock to my establishment to "support the cause." Of course, at that point, it would be up to me to keep them.

Only the Archie Bunkers of the world think this way. Weak spin.

I am not sure what this means, but if you don't think that both parties are out there every day counting potential dollars and votes, you are turning a blind eye.

And they keep the interior designers and florists busy too. Obama found that out last summer...when he had to change his stance on gay marriage as the money just was not coming in from Peter Pan and Tinkerbelle.

Some time back I read an article in a British paper about how gays had purchased American politician's votes with fundraising. One homosexual leader said it felt sleazy but "I can shower on the way to my wedding". You didn't really think they "evolved" did you? Like all whores they are willing to do any thing if someone has money.

Wasn't that around the time Paula Deen was using the N-word?

I guess we can expect Rahm's resignation shortly and he will be dropped from all associations with anything Democrat, soon thereafter. Isn't that how it works?
