Girls played hard. It is frustrating to watch. They have nothing left in the tank by the end of these games. Had Paulina been on from 3 today we could have won this game. I am hoping next year Funda can play more off the ball. She is a really good player but she isn't a great athlete and got picked several times today resulting in transition points for Carolina. They are definitely well coached. Too much youth...too little depth... Hope people don't see the record and think progress isn't being made.

I could not agree more strongly, Coach has 8 players and he gets every bit of what they have, they fight to the buzzer regardless of the score, I was in the dome for Miss State and they never let up, behind by 30 to 48 the whole second half

Funda is a terrific shooter and she probably has the best Basketball IQ, Washington is a great athlete but her Bb IQ has a ways to go, her TOs have improved but still she throws the ball away too much losing Lorenzen and Hersler will hurt they both understand the game and even though they are not as athletic as some of the bigs in conference they both can play around the bucket and make a 3 every once in a while. Anderson is a senior and a steady player who gets hot from 3 at times.
I hope to find out something about Searcy at a meeting Tuesday where Cam is a speaker

I think Searcy is gone. I would be surprised if Elif isn't by next year. I can't help but wonder if Darby Maggard could be here next year. Love her game, fills a need, obviously would fit right into the scheme and allow Funda to move, and have to think it would allow her much better exposure and experience. I hope it is a possibility.

I know Searcy is gone but the only thing I could get out of some folks close to the program was 'she is dealing with some personal issues right now', with no hints of return or not.

As much as I'd love to see "another" shooter, I really want to see someone who can defend on the perimeter and not turn the ball over.

Why I want her. One of the best guards in the country.

If Searcy came back it would be a shocker for sure...I have heard the transfer we got in January is the best PG on campus by far. dont know if she is a true PG or not. We are in the same predicament next year unless we get 2 more bigs that we will be great on depth in the backcourt but no much up front.

Darby would be a stop gap for sure plus she is very good and help get Delicia and Funda off the ball more. We need that athletic 6 footer now and a true athletic big. Its going to be a process for sure

I am hoping for one big and one true point. That is curious to hear though.... I have always thought she was more of a wing than a PG. I actually like Tameria and think she wil develop nicely. I just can't see Elif cutting it ever. Options are fairly limited this late. Juco, Euro, or grad transfer. There is a Spanish girl I think we may be after but don't think she solves anything else for next season. Hopefully there is a JUCO out there that can help.

I think that is just a indictment on what PGs we have on campus right now more then anything. I like Tamerias quickness and athleticism, but she rushes too much and gets lost on defense constantly. Her passing leaves a lot to be desired also. But hopefully this offseason will be a big help.

I'm still out on Tamerira. I also like her quickness - especially in pressing situations. Offensively (like the other freshmen) she's just not involved. Sounds weird with her being a PG, but she isn't putting up shots in same situations as the other guards. And yes, her passing could improve. But if I'm being honest, that issue is pretty much the same across the all the guards. And I personally hate that wrap-around skip pass to the post. It's almost always a TO and if not, the post can't do anything before the defense adjust because it's so low.

Johnson really needed to redshirt this year. Unfortuantely not really an option with our roster numbers. She has some talent but not sure there's going to be much of a fit with Newbauer's philosophy (has she even hit the rim on a shot from outside 5 feet this year?). I'd guess there's a decent chance she ends up transferring to JU or somewhere like that and doing pretty well at that level.

Down to 8, tough to redshirt anyone. I am thinking we may get some good news on the recruiting front.

I'd be willing to bet she rides it out being a sub/cheerleader before she changes schools. Especially with Ocala right down the road.
