DJ Douglas - For all of you that want more from how our defensive players are doing, he's one you can all appreciate. One more missing piece of the defense that we now have in place to wipe away the nasty stench of last year's defensive troubles from our minds. There are others that deserve to be be mentioned and I will find them one by one and post on them little by little. And like me you will see a pattern emerge that will paint the picture we all need to see in the end... a much more successful defense. And it will be a beautiful sight indeed. And it all starts with one guy... one of many more improved, and new, players to come. The Florida Gators are in the midst of a college football doldrums unseen in Gainesville since the 1940s, having strung together three straight losing seasons stretching across two different coaches. The 2023 campaign may have been the most painful, as the Orange and Blue fumbled away at least a pair of wins, which left Billy Napier’s boys without a bowl invitation last December. Napier and Co., however, have not shied away from the task of restoring glory to the Swamp and part of those efforts have been concentrated on the NCAA transfer portal. This is the type of player that his teammates will get some sort of contact high off of him. Guys like this have a way to get the rest of the team to up their game and to play as a team.
