That's a huge spread. Kind of surprised by that.
Not really surprised. UConn has had a great run, but most objective ranking systems have them as worse than UCLA, Pittsburg, Tennessee, and Kentucky (all teams we handled pretty well).
I have a model I like to use, but before seeing anything else, I'd probably take the Gators here.
I'm not sure what MSU was doing their game against UConn. They just jacked up 3s instead of working it inside like they did all season, and was pretty careless with the ball. UConn honestly didn't look that good offensively to me except some hero shots by Napier. I think we can definitely slow them down offensively, and get good looks on offense. So as long as we don't go through an uncharacteristic shooting slump, gotta like our chances.
I like our chances in this one and here's why:
We played this team on their home court and lost by 1 on a buzzer beater with Scottie on the bench and Kasey Hill out the whole game.
UConn's win over Mich St. was basically a home game for them with how one sided MSG was. They will not have that same advantage in Arlington.
I think we'll win, but you never know...
The only thing for certain is that I'll be a nervous wreck come game time!!!
Speaking of being careless with the ball, a buddy of mine is a HUGE MSU fan and he told me when the tourney started that they are weak at the PG. Looks like he was right.
