Yes. As a matter of fact we can. I will see if I can't get ol' St Bobby to weigh in on retirement.

Been unbelievable up here in Tally this week among the nolies after our turnover-filled loss to Miami. They act like it was fsu that beat UF in Miami last week, not the canes themselves.

It's been interesting watching fsu fans go ga-ga over Winston's first game against a mediocre defense, and no doubt, they will continue to build up their confidence as they whip one mediocre opponent after another until the finally face a defense with a pulse that shuts down their run game and can actually pressure their QB and they lose.

The Tally democrat and the local radio stations have not let the UF loss last Saturday go either, talking up the ACC as the mightiest in the land and how overrated the SEC is now.

It's one of the reasons I really wanted to beat Miami so this very scenario wouldn't happen.

Winston was the #1 rated QB in the country by the NCAA stats after that game. Far be it from me to ever defend anything about FSU but I have to say that we'd be doing some bragging if our QB had that kind of rating. And if FSU lost to a team it was supposed to beat we'd probably make that team our second-favorite team for at least a week. I still like NC State a lot.

I think the jury is still out on how bad Pitt's defense is. They were 17th last year and returned 8 starters. Their pass and pass efficiency defense was 20th and 21st in the nation, respectively. I think it is very safe to say that their defense is FAR better than Toledo's or Miami's, yet Winston went 25-27 for 356 yards and 4 TDs.

    That is impressive against AIR.

That said, their defensive schedule looks easy for the most part.

Oh, I have no doubt whatsoever we beat them in The Swamp this year. fsu's OL is still the same group of turnstiles they've been the past 8 years and their defense will be exposed against a high-octane or even physical offense.

Gray hope you're right but we have our own turnstile OL, and a qb that is very flawed, not so it seems with sow.

I don't think our QB is "very flawed" nor do I think our OL was as bad as you think considering we had three of them go out of the game v.s. Miami with knee injuries and were shuffling it throughout the game.

RZ offense and turnovers is what hurt us most against Miami more than anything, and the mistakes we made are correctable and coachable.

As for fsu, they're soft and finesse. Their defense is good on the middle of the DL and at MLB, but otherwise, they're more vulnerable on D this season than they've been in years.

It'll be interesting the first time they have to play a team with a actual pulse.
