11 most terrifying defenders in UF history. Not necessarily the best players. But ones known to be scarey and ruthless. No particular order.

    Jack Youngblood
    Wilbur Marshall
    Louis Oliver
    RFN
    Jarvis Williams
    Tim Paulk
    Lawrence Wright
    Adrian White
    Alonzo Johnson
    Monty Grow
    Fee Bartley

    No Big Nasty?

Reggie Freakin' Nelson was certainly fast, but much too light to scare anyone.

Mass and velocity. They both count.

Light or not, I know I saw receivers he scared while playing for the Gators.

His size is more of an issue in the NFL. I am sure he can still bring it and make people think twice about coming his way, but he might have a tough time staying healthy himself, if he was regularly banging with NFL players on a 16 game season. Plus he's paid to make tackles... missed tackles going for big hits won't keep him getting paid.

Wow... you must have missed every game he played in.

Reggie was constantly knocking people into next week. I remember one play against uga, the WR actually refused to run his route because RFN was in the area.

If you want one per position, I nominate Matt Piotrowicz. I did love watching him run down the field looking for the tackle.

You know what....I briefly DID forget, Valdosta.
My lasting impression of RFN was that pick-six against Bama in those sweet throwbacks at home.
But he certainly WAS a headhunter.

Monty Grow? I saw Monty miss more tackles than make them.

Big Nasty def needs to be on that list.

Brandon Spikes and Channing Crowder may deserve to be on the list.

I remember one against LSU where he made a hit in the end zone that was hard to believe even in slow motion. I think they had to cart him off the field

I remember watching this game with an Oklahoma fan and I couldn't help jumping up and saying OMG! He just sulked after that one.

I rewatched this game yesterday. I remember watching live and when that hit happened, I jumped about 10 ft high, yelled "BOOM!" And just laughed and knew that game was ours. That's the highlight I'm always most excited to see from that game... And hearing the crowd after the jump pass to Nelson!
