Read about the game. Lots of bizzare goings on, what with the weather and protests by the WA coaches. Go Gators!

Very bizarre. The protest was not even a protest, what she was complaining about can not be protested only pointed out. The camera and link to the dug-out is allowed during regular season play but the link is not supposed to be used in post season play, really doesn't give a competitive edge. You could tell Walton was like "what?". The biggest issue for me was the timing of it. Why not point it out during the weather delay? Why wait until your team is at bat and a pitch had been made? It was nothing more than grand-standing on their coaches part. She knew their season was over and was throwing a little hissy fit about it....nothing more. Great win Lady Gators!!

No competitive edge? Of course there is. That is a bizarre rule.

Certainly Game 3 is a little late to be complaining if she had a problem with it.

If it was that much of a competitive edge, why is it allowed in the regular season?

If it is not a competitive edge, why is it prohibited in the post season? (See I can engage in logical fallacies also).

I don't have a problem with the cameras - that is a part of coaching - but the live feed in the dugout is very odd. I also suspect the description of what happened as a live feed to the dugout is probably inaccurate. The more I think about, there is no way that would be allowed during the games. That would be a huge advantage to a team, not to mention the umpires would absolutely hate it.

I was very surprised to read the supposed explanation of the live feed. Can't imagine why the NCAA allows that if it was explained correctly.
And I totally agree that UW may have had a legit gripe if it was being used, but the grandstanding manner in which they protested was very bush league.

Not just the one protest. Their coach also complained that the game did not stop immediately after (during) the 1st lightning strike (and before we hit a 3 run home run). Also questioned whether Stewart failed to touch 1st base during her home run trot.

Its odd to allow something during the regular season but not allow it during post season. In fact, I can't think of any other time I have seen that. As far as the competitive edge it gives you, that can be debated. If it's that big of a deal then I just don't see why its allowed during the regular season.

You're exactly right. The regular season and post season are both NCAA competition - not sure why the rules would change.

After the coach complained they made the guy sitting in center field with the camera close up his laptop. It was him watching it on his laptop that they stopped not someone in the dugout. The announcers started out saying it was a feed to the dugout but after the laptop in center field was shown being shut down they said that was the complaint the coach had.

I hope everybody plans on watching tonight. Here in Bama land, they are talking trash and think they have it in the bag.

    Go Gators!

Myself, I picked Bama to win it all a while back but hope to be proven wrong this week. I think our girls are up for the challenge.

That said, it's all about Game #1 and who wins it IMO. If we can win this first game, we'll have all the momentum. A loss in Game #1 puts an enormous amount of pressure on that team to win the next two.

8 shutouts in 10 tournament games...not too shabby!!!

Three teams at the WCWS and an all SEC final...the dominance continues.

This ump's strike zone is all over the place. Just turrible. Gators up 1-0 in the bottom of 3rd.
