I was at the Children's Cancer Fund golf tourney, hosted by Josh Scobee, today and met two former noles, now current NFL players.

I was standing around talking, with my Gator hat on, and looked over at a guy and he jokingly said, "I can't talk to you." He had noles head covers and a nole hat, so properly responded, "I had no intentions on talking to you either." He then introduced himself. It was Geno Hayes. We chatted for about 15-20 minutes.

My next encounter was with a pretty big dude. He bumped my golf cart and when I got out he said "Oh you're one of them." (Referring to my Gator hat) I looked at him and said "There's nothing greater than a Gator!". He laughed and said "Hell yeah there is, a nole." We shook hands and he introduced himself as Sebastian Janikowski. He was linebacker size and ripped. He has to be the biggest kicker in the league.

They were both pretty cool guys. I did wash my hands thoroughly, so I pray I was not infected by any nole diseases.

The weather in Jacksonville was nice, a little on the warm side, but a great day.

    Great story!

But if SeaBass was LB size and ripped, he must have lost 60+ lbs since last season.

Regardless, agree on him being the biggest kicker in the league.

Should have asked Geno if he's stopped seeing stars yet after all the hits he took from Tebow lol

Good story though, good sports all around.

    Don't even need a caddy; 3 iron.

Just a proximity thing. Rarely do I have my clubs with me in the presence of noles. Were it to happen, I'd go with a 3 iron (being sure to follow through of course).

Show Geno the bottom of your golf cleats and tell him I bet he wished Tebow had these fancy soft cleats on when he got ran over.

Big hitter, Janicrimeski. Well, when you die . . . and you're on your deathbed . . . you will have total consciousness and a vision of Nolies. So you got that going for you.

I will always remember that Geno "the loud mouth" Hayes said he was going to take Tim Tebow out of the game in The Swamp, and early in the game Tim knocked him on his ass! :)

The best "kicker" in the league is the guy that is holding the ball for SeaBass to kick. He just punts the ball instead of kicking it off a tee. By the way he was also a helluva place kicker in college too.
