Gator Football under Muschamp reminds of Alabama under Gene Stallings.

It hit me yesterday as I watched the game. The tide had barely competent offense with a devastating defense. The defensive units he put on the field from 91-94 were some of the best in CFB history while the offense stood not to lose the game. The tide's philosophy under Stallings never changed.

Right now it may look like that, but Muschamp is bringing in serious offensive talent so it won't look like that for long.

For the love of God, just stop. You do know that Bama won a National Championship under Stallings, right? Do some of you people simply enjoy being miserable?

I loved watching that team play D. That 92 team gave up what like 12 points a game?

And scored 13. I don't remember their fans bitching about it, though. All they cared about was winning. Knocking them off in the '94 SECCG was really sweet because they were 11-0 without seemingly ever winning a game by more than 10 points. They finally got burned for their style of play and we were the ones who did it.

I'm not complaining. Bama football was very good under Stallings.

I don't think that was his intention. At least I didn't take anything negative from it. He is right, Bama had a devastating D and won NC.

My bad. Seems the only thing anybody does on these boards is complain, figured this was more of the same. Although we could learn a lesson from Bama and Stallings. They ran him out after the NC and lost their way for a good long time.

Can you guys tell me how many points Alabama put up this week against a crappy team? Then compare that to us with a backup QB against a bad, but better (than bamas opp) Tenn team.

They had a sophomore QB who rarely made a mistake. That kid was the reason they won the NC in 1992 because he let the defense dictate field position and he did not let the offense self destruct.

It's year 3 under Muschamp. The "serious offensive talent" should have already been brought in.

He did not have much time the first year to get things going. Give the man a chance. He knows football and will get it together sooner than later. I don't want to go down the path teams like Tennessee have.
