Anyone else gonna be there? This is my first gameday, is there anything I should be aware of going into it?

Also, I'm leaning towards making a sign, so I need some good witty ideas.

My gf is a uk fan, and this is the first year we've been lucky enough to get tickets for a reasonable price and this will also be my first big school college basketball game so it should be a nice long day in Lexington.

Sounds like you are going to have a fun day. It will be even better if the Gators pull out the win.

Congrats on getting affordable tickets. Hope your girlfriend has a great time!

Really though, it should be a fun day. The last time I went to gameday at Rupp was back when they held it in the Lexington Center entrance instead of inside Rupp like today. Back then you had to be there early to have a chance at seeing the set but now that shouldn't be a problem. Also, from what I've seen and heard, you shouldn't have a problem wearing your gator stuff. The average ticket holder isn't much like the average message board poster and every time I've talked to a decked-out opposing fan they've mentioned being well received or at least not harassed in anything more than a joking way at least.

I'm not too worried about the uk fans, I've been to the last two UF-uk football games in Lexington and haven't had a problem.

However, I have had a few tell me they went to the UF football game knowing they were going to lose and only went to tailgate and hang out and such, and quite a few have said they get much crazier at basketball games.

It will be interesting to see the difference in the football and basketball fans, but I'm not expecting any problems there.

No need to worry about the fans. I went to a Gator game at Rupp by myself a few years back when I was working at Ft. Knox. It's definitely a great game day experience.

    Have fun.

UK fans are generally great.... And pretty fun to party with. I have not been to Rupp, but go to the SECT every year.

I've partied with UK fans at an SEC tourney or two in Atlanta. If you know the game, you will have their respect.

The only bad experience I've had with a Cat fan is here, with he who must not be named....

If are not in their student section wearing Gator gear, then you should be fine. The place is louder than practically every college arena, so be prepared

We're going with a group of 4 (3 Gators and 1 Wildcat). We got tix for College Gameday in the morning as well. Should be fun regardless of the outcome, but it would love to get out of there with a win. Anybody have recommendations for dinner/partying Friday night and Saturday?

They were on ticketmaster, came out to like $2.50 or something each after all the fees. I saw a bunch on the Lexington Craigslist that day as well, but haven't looked since

Whoa, I don't think I would've paid that much haha. We have to leave around 7am to get there and then of course we'll be in Lex til about midnight so I wasn't gonna get gameday tickets unless I got em for as cheap as I did.
