Normally I tailgate when I come to town for games. Since only two of us are making the trip I decided to mix it up.

Plan on getting to town by noon and I am thinking about hitting a bar away from campus for lunch. Want to be able to chill at a bar before hitting the craziness of midtown

What sports bar would you recommend?

I know Winghouse is just like Hooters, how is the one in Gville?

    Gators Dockside?

    Ballyhoo at the outside bar?

    Other suggestions?

Gator City, The Swamp and Beef O'Brady's are all good places to hang and watch the other games during the day and are right across University from campus. The Swamp will be packed though. Beef O'Brady's used to have some decent Saturday specials and never seemed to get too full, could always grab a decent table.

But if you really want to get away from campus, Gators Dockside is probably your best bet.

    Dockside is a good choice.

Ker's Winghouse or Alehouse are right off of I-75 on Archer and good spots with lots of TVs.

Anyone know why Gainesville doesn't have a Buffalo Wild Wings? Mind-boggling when you think about it.

River's smokehouse. Yes, I know, it's not a sports bar per se, but it has two or three good sized TV's and the food makes up for the sports bar like atmosphere.

BJs is better than Dockside, though less bar seating. Food is much better.
