Doing a quick strike to Gainesville tomorrow. Will be there for lunch and dinner. Recommend me a place to eat

Or else we default to La Tienda for lunch and Satchel's for dinner

Have you been to Emiliano's? Not Amelia's, which is very good Italian, but Emiliano's. It's a Spanish/tapas place with a nice atmosphere and good wine selection. Have never been disappointed. SE 1st Ave near Main St.

I love McAlister's. Still bitter that the Jacksonville people apparently flaked out, because I would eat there 3-4 times a week. Not quite hungry enough to drive to Gainesville for it, though!

It bugs me that there are places I like that I can't remember the name of -- only moved away from Gainesville 10 years ago. A restaurant up on 39th in the millhopper area, but can't remember its name.

I think the best Cuban in Gville is at LaFamilia- on sw 16th in the strip right behind where Lums and One Hour Martinizing used to be- the guy brings bread from Segunda Bakery in Tampa every day and the sandwich is exactly what you would get at the Silver Ring Cafe in Tampa (pressed or not) - delicious been eating there for 20 years - never been disappointed
