I truly believe this is the best outcome for the UF program.
FSU is not on the road to UF winning the SECC.
Historically, Alabama, LSU and Georgia have been picked off by FSU's recruiting.
FSU won with a number one pick QB who would have dominated the SEC in Sabans or Malzahns system.
And don't forget, many of the players for FSU were UF commits or leans until Urban got Buckeye fever.
Florida kids who are leans to Florida schools are much easier to convince to stay in state.
I know this from seeing rather up close the recruitment of Tampa athletes some years back.
Once they set their sights out of state, its hard to bring them in.
On the other hand, we have feasted on the SEC with players who were once FSU leans or commits.
It's time to forget the SEC-SEC mantra. Lets get back to making the SEC our bitch.
Lets get back to the days where the cover of Sports Illustrated is adorned with the map of Florida with the title "The State of College Football".
It could have been Alabamia after last night.
This has to be killing Alabamians of all stripes.
It really has to be killing Saban,
He wont have Winston as his starting QB next year.

Miami is its own geographical entity.
FSU lies right in the heart of the Georgia, Alabama, Auburn and LSU recruiting territory.

Do you really think UGA wins the last three on us without Murray?
    I don't.

Let me tell you what I think: It is a marvelous boast to get on a board and claim that watching your archrival hold up a crystal ball is actually good for the University of Florida. You are truly a man of fantastic thoughts, my son.

It's a noble attempt to lessen the pain of the SOW winning it all this year. But, we all saw the tainted side of reffing in a game with such huge implications involved, this should never have happened.

I hope for this reason the big 10 officials are never allowed to ref any of the playoff games next year.

What calls are you referring to, the horse callers, the face masks, or the pass interferences on AU?

The sad truth is the PAC practically owns the playoff committee, and do own it with a Big 10 alliance.

If anything, PAC and Big 10 will be over represented in the playoffs and with officiating.

Bingo! They missed those calls too, which changes nothing about what I said. They were lousy at calling penalties that occurred on both sides. They simply missed too many obvious penalties.

Neither, the poster used the word tainted in referring to the reffing which indicated, to me at least, they were intentionally trying to influence the outcome. Now had he said incompetent I would whole heartedly agree because they were terrible on bothe sides.

You never really know. 5 years ago the situation was reversed. I'm sure a lot of Nole fans thought 2006-2008 was the end of the world too.

Now we just need Jimbo to retire and unretire a couple times and hope fsu screws up when replacing him.

I'm sorry, Georgia is UF's arch rival.
Until recently, Auburn was a big annual rivalry along with LSU.
Don't forget Tennessee, which will re-emerge prime time soon.
Spurrier has put USCe on the map as a big annual game.
    Alabama will always be big.
The biggest game of the year for us is the SECCG.
FSU is small potatoes. The fact that they won the MNC this year makes the in state rivalry more compelling.
But it is the SECCG that makes a program in the SEC.
So let them steal the Jameis Winstons, Warrick Dunns and Charlie Wards from Alabama, LSU and Georgia.
I like our chances at Alabama next year.
With Winston, Alabama would be untouchable.

FSU winning a 3rd natty and catching up to us is NOT a good thing, no matter how you spin it. They will get their recruits and we will get ours. The same goes for other teams in the South. All last night did was propel them to the top again and it sucks.

What's a horse caller? Is this something they do in Tallycrappy to call Tonto to the field to throw the flaming spear?

There is only one way that this ends up well for us. Jimbo has always rode on the coattails of those around him. I don't think he magically became a great coach between this year and last. In fact I think Muschamp is a better coach. Last year proved that IMO.

Muschamp just needs to surround himself with better assistants. Jimbo hit the lottery when he was able to steal Pruitt and co from Saban's staff. I could have told of you that stealing Saban's position coaches was a good move. That doesn't make me a good football coach, and neither does it make Jimbo a good coach.

The only way this ends well is if this turns into another Phillip Fulmer/Bobby Bowden scenario where the coach isn't cutting it, but you can't fire the coach because he brought the crystal home once. If this lands Jimbo tenure for several years it could be good for us in the long run because Jimbo is beatable. We just need the propaganda machine up in Tallahassee to keep convincing FSU fans that Jimbo is the next Saban and is going to build the next dynasty at FSU.

It's an peculiar POV, I will give you that.

Crucial. All Championship teams have great staffs. fsu was good during the mid-late part of the Bowden era because they had great assistant coaches, several of whom went on to be HCs at other schools. I don't know where we're at but one thing is sure those staffs/programs recruit well through evaluation and follow it up with development. If we don't have that it's a tougher to win.
No, but it worked for Bowden(great assistants) and Jimbo is better than Bowden at this stage of his career compared to Bowden during their last run. I'm not saying "dynasty" but they will recruit well and be well coached it appears.
