Incompetent refs aside, that was a tough, tough team. Their stiff bigs were a handful for us. FSU is going to have some big upsets this year. I see them getting one of the games from duke.

Really gutty win with what I would say is probably our C game

Some bad calls both ways honestly. And yeah this one will look impressive at the end of the year. They're very long, very athletic, scrappy, and they D up.

We won a game by single digits. A single digit at that.

They are going to be a NCAA team, I suspect.

I'm glad we won't face length like that again. We really had issues with them

Part of the problem was that the injuries kept us from doing the two things that kill a team like that: spread out the floor with shooters and aggressively press to make their bigs handle and run. With Hill and Walker, we could have played Prather some at the four. Frazier some at the three, and less of Yeguete and Young together, which would have spaced the floor offensively with more shooting and created more driving lines against bigs covering out on the perimeter. Likewise, with a deeper rotation of 8-9, we could have actually pressed more consistently.

Saved the weekend for me. If we had gone 0-2 against FSU I might have cried

Brockway will argue both sides of a position at convenient moments. Missed a FT? 'Don't know what Billy was thinking.'

Most of the time, I wonder if Brockway even watches the games or just checks the boxes.

There are going to be nights like this. This is the kind of game that will pay dividends down the road.

They're a lot better than last year. They played Michigan to 2 points. Good defense again, but still, they're a flawed bunch on offense, as usual.

I have honestly never been able to put my finger to why Hamilton's teams underachieve. He recruits well, his kids develop good skill sets, and they play solid defense. But it seems like they just have no idea what they want to do offensively. Guess maybe I am spoiled by someone like Donovan, who is very intentional about recruiting certain types of players, developing certain skills, and fitting them into a system that he adapts to the players, but never changes.

It feels like he's assembled the exact same team every season for the past decade. Big, long, athletic, very tall and almost completely lacking in the ability to pass or shoot.

If they had been just a little bit better on the offensive end of the floor they could have won tonight. Props to them for making their free throws, but that can't be your entire offense.

Its enough to be a pain in the you know what and get the occasional upset, but it will never win a championship
