He's got to sit out this year, doesn't he?
No... He graduates in May so he can play right away.
I see. Thanks.
This was a long time coming and not news around Mobile.
Yes, I believe I read that on TOS.

FSU Loses Safety Net With Coker's Departure.
>> Tallahassee - Florida State quarterback Jacob Coker was released from his scholarship and will transfer to Alabama, ESPN.com reported.
The Mobile, Alabama native competed with Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston for the starting job last Spring. Coker played in eight games after FSU jumped to significant leads in those contests, then suffered a season-ending knee injury against Syracuse and underwent surgery.
Coker completed 18 of 36 passes for 250 yards and an interception during his redshirt sophomore year.
Sean Maguire and John Franklin will compete to back up Winston in 2014. <<
The two words the Noles fear most. Baseball draft.
Winston doesn't have to wait to get paid in that sport.
Winston isn't eligible to be drafted in baseball yet.
Um, in baseball you either come straight out of high school or you have to wait 3 years to be drafted.
Well, he can always go to Japan....
i don't think he signed a bb scholly.. i could be wrong but he may be able to go anytime. anyone know for sure?
No. No. No. He did NOT redshirt this past season. He played in several games this past season.
As much as we have heard that a QB would transfer into Bama to replace McCarron, I think it is a little strange. I think Cooper Bateman is EXTREMELY TALENTED. I actually thought he was the best quarterback prospect coming out a couple years ago. If Kiffin could get him to play to his large potential (dude can really spin it), then maybe he could win the starting job this year. With that being said, I have never seen Coker play, so maybe I am not the one to comment on the situation. Just my .02.
The first three games don't count. In other words you can still play in the first three games and still red-shirt. Whatever the case... he still has two full years of eligibility left at 'bama.
Winston is almost never sacked, is rarely even under strong pressure. He could get hurt running the ball but otherwise he's pretty much bullet proof and his backup only needs to know how to carry a clipboard.
Coker played in six games in 2013, and was injured for the season against Wake Forest, which was game #9.
Winston was sacked 27 times, which makes him one of the 20 most sacked QBs last year.
Respectfully disagree. Tebow played like a man possessed in '07--and did so recklessly. Even banged his shoulder up pretty good after the ole miss game (if recollection serves), and they had to pull the reigns on him a bit, hold him back.
JD already missed most of last season due to injury. He needs to play more conservatively; definitely not like Tebow in '07. He may 'run like a deer,' but Tebow ran like a bull, because he was about as tough as one--and JD just isn't as tough as Tebow.
...and we don't have enough depth wise, to risk losing him for a significant period of time (and at the very least, I'd like to see Grier to get at a least half a season of bench time--preferably a full season--rather than throwing him into the fire, before his time).
Well sure, but those were like marshmallow sacks, like a chick pillow fight. I mean, that's the ACC...
We're talk'n real football here, like they play in the SEC.
(I kid, I kid...).
When you start driving new cars around all of a sudden, people are bound to notice.
satan is as satan does. Watch for more sleaze moves from gump. They don't like losing to Auburn and will take their revenge any way they can get it.
