This could prove troublesome , but may help them in keeping Harris committed.

Why go to Bama to compete with 6 when he can come to Gainesville and compete with 2?

He is an Alabama native. The only reason he didn't commit to Bama out of HS is because FSU/Fisher identified him early as a QB prospect and he stayed loyal to their offer. Supposedly he gave Winston all he could handle in Spring and Fall camp. Not exactly encouraging for our game in September.

Agree. Bama's not sittin pretty right now at QB (if he doesn't enroll). He's a very good QB and who could blame him? Home state team with a shot at a national championship.

Hate to lose him, but I have to say this is a no-brainer for him though for some reason I always thought he'd end up at Auburn if Jameis won the starting gig (I actually had my money on Coker until the spring game).

Getting off the bus the dude absolutely looks the part, more so than even Winston. He even has the hair to play at Bama. Fisher's usually not the type to blow smoke and based what I saw I have my doubts as the how close the competition was, but as others have said, Jimbo claimed it was down to the wire. In games Coker always kinda looked hesitant and uncomfortable, granted that's probably natural given the lack of reps with the first team and playing in games with the second string guys, mostly.

Fascinated to see how this goes. Dude has a huge arm, wouldn't surprise me if it was bigger than Winston's. He is bigger. Just as athletic/mobile if not more.

Realistic possibility FSU and Bama will go toe to toe next season with the playoff. Storyline central there.

The bright side is that when Rapeis either leaves early or ends up in jail, fsu doesn't have a good QB ready to hop right in.

I thought so too but the article says he is scheduled to graduate in May. That's the exception.

all about putting him in the right offense.....Driskel has a huge arm and runs like deer. His performance is reflective of tryign to make him Tom Brady....Driskel needs to play like 2007 Tebow

2007 Tebow also had Percy Harvin, Andre Caldwell, Louis Murphy, Riley Cooper, and Aaron Hernandez for receivers. Name one WR/TE on the current roster who would get playing time over those guys.

No. He played in several games before getting hurt in the middle of the year and missed the rest of the season.

I have to be honest. I'm not so sure where the hype of Coker comes from. It didn't happen in HS. He was seen as an under the radar guy that played in a run-offense but had good arm talent and athleticism (was a star basketball player). But he only got two major offers.

I was certainly excited to see him because I think Jimbo does a good job of evaluating QBs but honest to God...he has only looked meh in any kind of action I have seen him in. Looked meh in the spring game but people excused that away because he was nursing an injury. Okay then. Looked meh in mopup duty this season but people excused that away because he was playing with the second team. Okay then. But then Sean Maguire comes in the second half of the season and looks a bit better with the same second team.

He has arm talent and athleticism sure but I think this "was neck and neck with Winston" word of mouth is carrying him. I was always kind of meh watching him play. Looked indecisive. Tripped over his own feet alot and didn't seem to have good pocket awareness/presence. But reading other people hype him up, it really makes me wonder if many have actually watched him play. The sample size is too small to conclude anything either way, but it seems to me that he might be the most hyped 3-star player in a long time...which is sort of funny.

I wish him luck. Seemed to be nothing but a team first guy. I remember when Winston threw his first TD pass against Pitt, Coker was the first one off the bench to congratulate him. Good kid and I hope he succeeds.

Meanwhile, we basically have no backup to Driskel if he gets hurt, other than a true freshman.
