The big portions of Obamacare haven't even rolled out yet and its proponents are pleading for everyone to give it a chance. If that doesn't reek of failure I don't know what does. Obama could have tried fixing the leak and then repairing the lifeboat, but instead he decided to scuttle the lifeboat hoping a huge cruise ship (single payer system) would come along to save everyone.

and madgator, is your solution to those who are uninsured to make them useful by turning them into Soylent Green.

If they are not to die(and be used as Soylent Green) then how are they to obtain healthcare?

churches passing the collection basket? The rate/incidence of children living9and dying) in poverty is higher in rural areas of the Bible belt than in cities. To expect them to be the answer is naive.

hey themselves work? tell that to the quads and others who are seriously disabled, tell that to children, tell that to people who are already working fulltime and don't get coverage because they are refused because of pre existing condition.

If they are to have healthcare and can't do it themselves....then who should pay for it?

Everyone's healthcare was paid for prior to AHCA in the most inefficient way possible for the uninsured.

Bingo! We have a winner! Even the Dems in the halls of congress were seen accepting that idea a few weeks before the $h!t plan was signed into law. It was nationally televised.

at same time proponents telling people to give it a chance were opponents doing the exact opposite(while at the same time trying to sabotage it).

please present the whole truth instead of saying just one side was talking about it.

They tried to "sabotage it" because it's a the largest tax increase in the history of the United States of America, that's why... That's a damn good reason to sabotage that crap sandwich.

It's the epitome of wealth redistribution and socialized/commie medicine.

Opponents have been trying to get it repealed since it passed. That is the whole truth and nothing new. No reason to even mention it.

You act as if we are owed a certain standard of living.

And yes ones family should be the first place they turn to pay for their healthcare. Followed by charities and communities! The federal government has done a great job in destroying the family unit and creating a dependence on itself instead sadly...

Do you really think the uninsured never pay their healthcare bill?

    ...so there you go.

Guys, there's not much point in talking about the shortcomings of 0bamacare to the people who are most supportive of 0bama. You are preaching to the choir. They know it sucks. It's SUPPOSED to suck. The idea of it is not to improve the healthcare industry in this country, it is to ruin it and lay the groundwork for socialized medicine.

And herein lies the slippery slope of the socialism/communism takeover of a Constitutional Republic.

Medicine and healthcare in particular are private sector BUSINESSES, yet the party of the Jacka$$ think that our government has the Constitutional right to go into that business and snuff out all the completion while taking it over completely... what's next, our energy sector?

How utterly communist of them.:devil::devil::devil:

Our health care is very very far from lousy. It's the best anywhere! Regardless of biased and outright embellished "polls".... on infant mortality and such that are flat bogus.

The SINGLE biggest problem with health care is the government involvement. When the government got into health care in a big way the provision of health care became more and more coplicated. That's the mess we are in now. If government got OUT of the provision of health care the cost and outcomes would improve substantially... and immediately.

Health care has moved far away from a consumer model. THAT'S THE PROBLEM. Nobody has a clue what services cost what so the consumer has been removed... and in many cases the impetus to be efficient on the provision side.

Do you think for one second Pelosi cares more about my health care than I do? She could care less. She certainly doesn't want to be part of this legislation and thus is trying to get congress exempted from it.

These idiot congress people in their quest to buy votes enacted this hideous legislation through a dubious and I'd argue illegal reconciliation process. No Republicans voted for it. 50% of America was told to get straight to hell because the democrats want to buy votes.

Why is it that people who aren't qualified to take care of patients are qualified to make up the rules to take care of patients?

I still believe Obamacare is going to be a huge mess and by the time even those who support it agree and want change it will be too late. It's just so unlikely the government will turn this into a universally beneficial and cost effective system. They grabbed and thought it through after the fact. Well, not sure they actually thought it through. Even if they knew from closed door meetings it's likely to fail financially and as a means of advancing patient care they would still go through with it... and they probably already know.

BOLD- I had someone sit in front of me and say she can't wait for her free healthcare next year. I asked if she understands she has to pay for it and even then it might not work. She seemed surprised that I didn't have faith this massive undertaking was going to roll seamlessly. Does she realize that in order to have free healthcare she has to forfeit her job and fall below the poverty line?

I can only imagine what the effect of so many Americans having to turn more money over to the government will be, but it can't be positive.
