Set to enroll next week per Adam Silverstein
That's good news. Francis, Chiozza & Robinson will be another good class to add to this Florida team!
great news! Big guard, sturdy wing! we are going to need him for this tough! long, schedule.
Very good news. Brandone Francis is one of those rare guys who comes in with an SEC-ready body. I expect him to get a lot of playing time this season.
Don't count on it, unless Silverstein has some access to NCAA people who are reviewing his case. Or if he does enroll there would likely be an eligibility issue.
“It’s a great day, great day to be a Gator,” he said in an interview with OG.com Friday night. “Today I got the word that I’m able to enroll in school, and I will be there in nine days on the 24th.”
UF permitting him to enroll and NCAA eligibility are not necessarily the same...just sayin'...
This is really good news considering the apparent damage done to what should have been a very strong set of wing/Guards players with the loss of Devon Walker and Possible loss of Carter. Adding Francis to that would not have been good.
Of course, he is behind due to his late start, but he perhaps was more ready for the transition to college that either Chiozza or Robinson (unknown of course, in reality, at this point).
True, though I think we have to be careful not to equate this with Chris Walker's situation. There was always this assumption that Walker was being held up by academic eligibility issues when in reality once he enrolled and was able to practice at the end of fall quarter it was his receiving impermissible benefits that held him up.
Losing July and August hurts in the sense that he couldn't go through S&C workouts and play as much pick-up with the guys, but he will be around for the most important parts of fall if a freshman is going to contribute: individuals and the opening of practice, plus the early OOC games. That is where you can start to tell if a kid has some potential to contribute over the course of the season or if he can only compete against substantially inferior competition at this stage in his collegiate career.
To my mind, Robinson is far more important for us now with the loss of Walker and Murphy's apparent ineligibility in the fall. Francis can definitely play some three for us as needed, and he will compete with Graham for backup minutes at the two, but he still has a ways to bring his strengths to the table.
If I am correct, if he has not been cleared by NCAA he is unable to practice.

ICYMI: 4-star G Brandone Francis cleared by NCAA, ready to enroll at Florida & play for #Gators - http://bit.ly/VrR8ot
Does anybody know the status of Graham and Carter? Will they end up like Adam Allen and never play again?
...Adam Allen ended up playing two years at Rollins.
50% on bad days and 70% on good days - what a loss. Adam Allen should have had a good career with UF minus the knee injury.
The status of Carter and Graham still remains..........
I think he meant "never see the light of day again".
So by NCAA precedent, they should finish their investigation and clear him in February? Still good news
Bullis just posted an update on Francis in the Keith Stone thread. Apparently Francis has NOT been cleared by the NCAA, just UF.
