Santa is irrelevant really. He's a fictional character.

Megyn said that Jesus was a historical figure and his being white could not be disputed. Well, unless he moved to the middle east from Sweden, Jesus most likely looked more like Saddam Hussein than like Danny Wuerffel.

Good grief, 5 pages about this when it is clear from the article that she was clearly directing some of her comments to any children who were watching. There seems to be more outrage from the left about this than "if you like your insurance you can keep it."

I think it comes from the fact that PC mavens used to like to think of Hispanics as a monolithic block and one that is generally (in their minds) part of the victim class. The Zimmerman case threw a wrench into those gears and forced the PC crowd to redefine (they do this a lot if you didn't notice) things to fit their narrative.

I say it's progress as both you and I know that Hispanics are about as Monolithic as. . . well, White People.

It would be nice if we could all just treat each other as individuals and judge based on individual factors, but that requires thinking. PC, of course, is designed to eliminate thinking and keep everything in a nice and tidy template.

I once challenged a radio guy in Tampa (Shawn King) on this very subject. Asked him straight out if Manny Ramirez was black? He said, "No, he's hispanic." I asked him why. He had nothing. Speaking of wrenches, it really threw one into his gears.

Not really. What is your definition of white?

    This should be good. . . .

What is Megyn's? She says is it indisputable that Jesus was white.

The fact that she was attempting to assure kids that Santa is in fact white is what makes it so pathetic.

you know, the kids who watch Fox News at 9 p.m., still believe in Santa Claus and are really, really concerned about his skin color.
    those kids.

And maybe there are families where they all gather around Fox News at dinner time hoping for assurance that all the good people are, in fact, white.

There are many reasons to believe Santa Claus is white, among them:

    1) Fiscal proof: Coca-Cola says so.
    2) Genetic proof: "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" was written by a white guy.
    3) Historic proof: If Santa Claus was black, Matthew Henson would have told us.
    4) Anthropological proof: Ain't no brothers crazy enough to live where it's that cold.
    5) Sociological proof: How far do you think a black man driving a sled through the air is going to get before he gets pulled over?

Wow... The liberals and in full-tilt desperation mode.

This discussion is beyond silly. The argument is moronic. This infatuation the left has for all things FOX, were it not so sad, wreaks of desperation.

I highly doubt that any of you libs who are on here denigrating her have even seen the entire segment- if you had you would not be posting some of your drivel

Jesus was a Jew- I do not know any naturally born Jewish people who do not consider themselves white- but the fact is why does it matter -if blacks want to have a black Jesus-it is okay by me. if blacks want to have a black Santa- go ahead
not sure why it is even an issue-except as I previously stated this whole issue is not about anything other than partisan shots at Fox News and its tremendously successful anchor

^^^Excellent perspective, Oklahoma. Goes to show that the neo-libbies/dummy-rats hold conservtive talking heads to a higher standard than the POS for a POTUS they stuck us with.

    How about 'double standard'?

    Can you say 'diversionary tactics'?

Certainly it's preferable that we talk about a Megyn Kelly faux paus, that anything related to the epic disaster that is Barry's presidency.... ;)

Funny, it was never used before the Zimmerman trial. Wonder what The Paper of Record's agenda was? Hispanic used to be hispanic - period.

Of course, if "George" Zimmerman was assaulted by some white skinhead douchebag, the NYT would have called him "Jorge" in half a heartbeat and dug up his mother's maiden name to insert as Jorge's middle name. Something like "Jorge Rodriguez Zimmerman..."

Don't even TRY to contest this.

'White' was tacked on to 'hispanic', when news came out that the Germanic sounding 'Zimmerman' was hispanic--so they sought to set the derailed narrative, back on track, to put the Z-man, back in the evil, despisable, oppressive, and of course, racist, gun-toting whitey class.

...as for the 'alleged' contradiction--no surprise at all, that it comes more from the Left, than the Right..

The Left has its stereotype nailed down and etched in stone. Every time an *exception* comes up....they feel the need to isolate the exception. e.g.--Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, inter alia.

Jesus was a Jew, and the Jews of that day were indeed white. Not white as many artists attempted to portray Him (blue eyes, etc), but white nonetheless. Semites are mostly Caucasian. The blood strain spread across the Middle East from Afghanistan and, yes, the Caucuses. There wasn't much northward migration from sub-Saharan Africa. This is why I laugh at characterizations of Cleopatra and Hannibal as distinctly sub-Saharan blacks. The Mediterranean people were NOT black. Nor were they Nordic whites, as stylized by Western artists.

As for Santa Claus, the historical and cultural depictions of him over the last 300 years are as a white man. No different from Sherlock Holmes, James Bond, Batman, or other fictitious characters portrayed as such. Their skin color is unimportant anyway. Their message is universal.

It is funny. You guys can go on and on about someone on MSNBC. But, boy, don't anyone dare criticize someone on Fox.
