Because she doesn't work for FOX News....

Besides, it's more fun to simply parrot the likes of MediaMatters regardless of the facts involved.

Harris raised an interesting issue. Kelly responded with stupidity. That's why she's getting blasted.

This was the original article. She didn't ask for santa to be black, in fact she went overly pc and asked that it not be a person at all. It's hardly worth a full throated "he is white!" Defense. But the larger point that I was making with my earlier posts is that he is imaginary, the whole idea is to make him into something that the kids can relate to and be happy with, who cares how different people view him. This is just an idiotic thing to get upset about. If anything, just laugh at the idea in the article about him being a penguin, that's as bad as Megyn's bizarre outburst.

Yeah, if Kelly had just said: "Santa a penguin? That's ridiculous." Not much of interest to anyone there.

This is the jist of the convo. Harris "santa clause shouldn't be white". Kelly "santa clause IS white".

Libs - Kelly is a retarded and stupid.

    So typical on this board.

Oh come on Megyn....don't people make Middle Eastern Jesus look white? I bet you have no problem with that. Also St Nicholas was from Turkey. I, nor do many people, consider Turkish people to be white. Intelligence is not compatible with Megyn Kelly. Just be thankful you got your job solely based on looks.

Penguins are black and white, so technically she did think Santa should be "white." ;)

Claim facts about a primarily fictitious character like Santa is stupid.

No. Santa Clause is pictured as WHITE. That is a fact. It is also a fact that Santa Clause is fictional.

Whole debate is stupid. Santa is whatever you want Santa to be. Good God. Why is this so hard for people to grasp?

Like arguing over what kind of a duck Daffy really is. Don't know of any black duck species, maybe he's a coot, but definitely not a mallard.

Good point; but the actress performed quite well.

Alas, not well enough to offset the even worse casting decision of Carry Underwood as lead.

Suspended disbelief can get you past a black nun in Austria, when she knocks 'climb every mountain' out of the park.

But the horrible acting (especially underwood's), and the lack of anything resembling chemistry...it just seemed thrown together--was too much for 'suspended disbelief'.

I just suspsended watching it half way through, and will probably delete it from dvr, before I bother finishing it.

Vocal talent (and pitch) may have had as much to do with the casting as skin color, probably more since. . . well, it's a musical.

Underwood seems like a nice enough girl, but isn't the most talented vocalist. I've always seen her as fake Faith Hill (amazing vocal talent, whether you like her music or not) and somewhat exemplary of the kind of "Sports Singing" that we see far too much of today. Underwood is Poison to Hill's Motley Crew, if you want a rock example.

Just YouTube their respective national anthems to see amazing vocal talent (Hill) vs. mediocre-to-good vocal talent (Underwood).

Of course, the big problem with Santa being a penguin is that they only live at the SOUTH POLE!!!!
