That's the way I always saw them but I don't think it is necessary for all people to see them that way.

    Do you?

I have it on good authority that the Easter Bunny is white with brown polka-dots.

This is a good indicator of how pathetic things have become in this country when people make agendas about changing the public profile of figures. People are too concerned about characterizing humans into groups to fit some sort of warped agenda.

Given that Santa was not real (St Nicholas perhaps but not the jolly old man in red), who cares if someone wants to see him as black, yellow, or purple?

That being said, Megyn is hawt!

This is what it's come to?

    Really?

TV personalities arguing with other media personalities over whether santa is white?

No wonder we are where we are.

Jesus became man to be like us. It doesn't matter how you feel he looks like. It just doesn't matter.
    And Santa? who freaking cares?

Well, He was caucasian, anthropologically speaking, was He not?

And tell me people don't use that interchangeably with 'white' in common usage. Go on, tell me.

If they're Pubs, of course they are white. Just like a state can only be either pure blue or red, no purple.

Jesus' parents (or at least his mom) were Semitic - likely he looked like a lot of guys now running around Syria with AK-47s. Additionally, scripture says he was not an attractive guy (never once was on the cover of Jerusalem People magazine); so, this preoccupation with him being this way or that is perplexing. Megyn is no doubt playing to her base.

I've seen a black Santa - he played Jingle Bells on the saxophone when you pressed a button. Cooler than anything I've seen anything white Santa do.

Reading this prompts me to add I was perplexed at the casting of the Mother Superior/Abbess in the recent live television broadcast of The Sound of Music. I did not see the production but read the actress/singer performed well in the role. But ... this actress cast in the role of a Catholic nun in Austria in the 1030's is a black woman.

I don't have a problem with Black actresses. I have problem with what I consider to be serious miscasting. Just how many Black nuns were to be found in Austria in those years leading up to WW II? Political correctness for the sake of diversity was taken too far, imo.

Come guys, it only makes sense to claim that a completely fictitious character and one whose appearance is completely unknown to us now were white. I mean, they were good guys. What other color could they possibly have been?

Leaving aside the historical fact of Jesus and the common mistake of treating caucasian and "white" as interchangeable, let's talk about the whole "fictional character race" thing. People constantly complain in various pop culture corners, for instance, that there hasn't been a black Superman or a black Batman or a black Wonder Woman, or why can't a woman be Captain America? My question is... why does the character as conceived require the shake-up?
