I'll admit it. Jilted Wife Syndrome. I really, REALLY bought into the 1% of the 1% thing and thought we had something that would last a long time. Again, an image similar to Duke hoops in football. I figured as the biggest and best university in arguably the best state for football talent would give us the luxury of being more selective in recruiting and build something like that. But, alas, it wasn't to be. . . .

    Sound familiar?

As much as I dislike Urban and the way he left the program, this is just another case of a STUPID athlete who has thrown away his career, his family and his life...and for what? He has a new little girl. He has a nice house. He gets paid to play football. Just stupid, stupid, stupid.

This has nothing to do with picking bad guys, or paying off athletes in college, or hiring hookers for their players, or whatever you want to put on any school in the country. This is just another athlete who could be from any school out there that has thrown his life away because they think they're above the law and want to live the "thug" lifestyle. If there was enough worry while he was in school when he went home, then imagine how those influences have been on him since he left school.

I hope that they are just charging him to get him to talk and he didn't really do it...I cannot imagine he could look his child in the eyes when she grows up.

Don't worry...Obama sucks, but it's Bush's fault. Putin stole Kraft's Ring, which he then sold to Elton John for the benefit of Gay Marriage rights, and those guys held a rally next to Westboro Baptist Church, where the congregation was screaming that gays were going to hell while being beaten to a pulp by a bunch of Hell's Angels on their way to the Zimmerman trial. But don't worry, the prosecution will use NSA records to get the GPS records clarify where Zimmerman was in relation to Martin since they both had cell phones, and besides, the NSA found pictures of Martin on Obama's phone, which was dropped in Kenya, picked up by a rogue lion, who was killed by a Sheikh on safari that gives money to the Taliban, which is being investigated by the IRS.

    *whew*

Our coach never signed those two. A former coach did.

The last paragraph reminded me of the commercials about cable TV. Lol... too funny. Ran out of rep bullets - get you next time, Ice.

What a dumb wannabe mafioso. Was listening to Channing Crowder's show on WQAM today and he said he had reached out to some former Gators he knows who had played with Hernandez, to get their impressions of him. They said he was not well-liked on the team. Not that he was disliked per se, but he was kind of an outsider who mostly hung with his own group of thuggish friends that were not players.

We've been through this (I made the same assumption as you) already. 2 SEC. 2 NC.

Big time college football has a habit of producing thugs. This is what happens when we treat athletes like Gods in this country. After Spurrier retires, I am likely done with the sport. It's becoming nauseating a la Friday Night Lights.

I always thought that the 'top 1% of the top 1%' thing was dumb. Who was he (Meyer) trying to fool? I guess he was trying to fool potential recruits, but the rest of us knew better.

You're instincts were correct. Mine were clouded by my desire for a program like that and, in hindsight, the mistaken notion that it was even possible.

We just didn't know better, and many of us were just on here blaming this, that or the other for whatever kid got in trouble. Hopefully now many of us can take off the O&B glasses.

I agree. You're not going to reach that. It was just something for others to requote every time someone else got into trouble.
