For protein I go fish, particularly wild salmon, beans, whole grains, vegetables, and fruits such as avocadoes are all great sources.

Plenty of yucky things in 'maters and grains too!! Think of all the weevil eggs in dry goods!! I just think it's good training for the body.

The vegitarians I know mainly use peas for their protein. Egg whites are a great source of proteins. Slower digesting. Whey protein is great too. Quicker digesting. Sulphur in whey is really good for you. Vegitarians (particularly vegans) may object to those.

Avoid soy protein at all costs. Your ball$ will fall off. Seriously, does a number on testosterone which we all (men and women) need for building muscle.

If your building muscle and taking protein powders you may want to check the labels, actually check the labels of damn near everything you eat. Companies love to put soy in everything from processed foods to diet shakes because of price.
