It all falls onto the thing this offense has done better than anyone in the nation... Time of Possession.

LSU's offense is much better despite the fact they have yet to face a Top 30 defense, you can clearly see that compared to past years.

However, Florida's D is a monster of its own as we all know.

How have they been so successful? Physicality, getting off the field on third down, and the offense controlling TOP to keep them off the field.

LSU's D is down. Talented, but down. I know people can hate how we slow things down at times, but I think it's absolutely key that we control TOP. With LSU's D struggling, I think we can do what we want, when we want.

From there, we limit LSU's offense, getting them out of rhythm by keeping them off the field and forcing them into 3rd and longs (and getting off the field) and go on to win 28-17.

I was raised in Louisiana, great people and a lot my best friends are LSU grads and fans. I need some more braggin' rights!

Turnovers. We only lose when we turn it over. Our defense and a clean offensive game is all we need to win each week.

As long as it doesn't come down to a field goal, we should be ok. TOP will be a good thing for us this game, as we need to keep that offense off the field. Make the QB desperate and pick him off a couple of times. Love to see that sad Mettenberger face.

Also true. To control TOP, we have to hang onto the ball. The way Murph has managed so far, I feel confident this will stay true.

Controlling TOP and keeping the ball away from LSU's offense shouldn't actually be an advantage, since that will limit our own offensive possessions too.

The key is the same as always: score when we have the ball, and force LSU to punt when they have the ball. If we do that, we will win, regardless of how long each team holds the ball. If LSU does that, they win, regardless of how much clock Florida eats.

Turnovers, we all saw what happened in Miami. Protect Murphy and hold on to the ball and we could be there in the 4th.

Turnovers. If we are plus two, I feel good about things. If we are plus three, we win.

That's a key to the game, not the key.

The key is this and simply put: Mixing up pressures (and keeping pressure) on Mett and keeping their offense off balance

Good analagy.....the longer you keep the ball, the less possesions you allow LSU to have, my opinion is whoever looses the turnover battle could also loose the game. LSU does not need a ton of time to score they are a quick strike offense this year. However, floridas defense is going to be the toughest test LSU has faced this year, although I am still sold that TCU has one of the best secondaries in the country. They just have no offense since paclhal went down. Make no mistake about it this will be a battle for both teams....LSU's defense has been bad, but in the second half of the MSU game they seemed to start to figure it out, mobile accurate QB's will give LSU fits, while mobile i'm not sure murphy is quite accurate enough to move up and down the field on them.

I think it's too much to ask Murphy at this point to go into that environment and win , he could do it 3 or 4 games from now

Agree with vshouse that TO battle is key... and big ST plays.

I think Murph is ready, but this is definitely a different environment than he's started in so far. Probably good for us that it isn't a night game.

Florida's best friend would be a productive running game to help take the pressure off of murphy.
